Beta Male of the Clan
Origin story found here. Moss is a long-time resident in the clan. In fact, he was the first hatchling bought. He has always been a quiet, calm sort of fellow. He is a wallflower, listening and observing to all that happens around him, but rarely ever participating. He is very gentle and very sweet. This disposition and his familiarity of the clan eventually granted him the Beta position. Other dragons trust Moss and admire him. They know he would never make any action that would harm another. He is very careful. He never raises his voice. He is never seen angry. He is obedient to his elders and clan-leaders, and is trustworthy. Relationships: Moss first found solace and comfort in Terra, the teacher of the clan. She was his first mate. However, as time passed, they realized their romantic attraction in each other lessened and instead acknowledged each other as permanent platonic life partners. They are best friends. He still looks to her for guidance, and she still loves his company. Eventually Moss took a mate in Tavern. She was a very bubbly and outgoing Light Tundra that used to be in the clan. Her personality was very different from Moss and she helped him out of his comfort zone. He appreciated that. However, time passed and she wanted to travel the world. She knew he would never leave Vixen's Clan, so they said their farewells to each other. Not long after her departure, Taverness came along, an Ice Tundra like Moss. He was intrigued to find her name so similar to his former mate and even more intrigued that he fell in love with her so quickly. She was a bit similar to his former mate, but a lot more relaxed and warm. Her presence was like that of a comfy blanket on a cool night. They soon began to love and cherish each other. The closest dragon connection Moss has in the clan, besides his mate, is to the Clan Leader, Shadowclaw--an Arcane Tundra. He was basically adopted by Shadowclaw and has thus always loved him as a father. The two are often mistaken as brothers to strangers but they definitely maintain a very close father/son relationship. He always makes time for Shadowclaw and loves spending time with him. Connecting to Home: When Moss had joined the clan, he only sported a Speckle gene, but after a long time of waiting, he finally was fully gened. He also laid his first nest with Taverness (his first nest since his mating with Terra), and thus wanted to celebrate this joyous status with family--blood family. So he sought out any blood relations. But to his dismay, most of his family members had been exalted to various deities. Still, he searched, until he found his maternal grandmother, Amarlia. Though she had Arcane eyes, he spotted her in the Fortress of Ends, in Ice territory. He wondered if that was his home-lair, considering that he was born with Ice eyes and only vaguely remembered his original home. Nervously, he put together a letter to her, telling her of who he was and of his new genes and mate. He didn't expect a reply but within a day or so he received a response! Her letter also explained what happened to his other relatives and which ones still existed on Sornieth. He realized that his mother's half-sister, Penny, was also still around, and she had sent him along a gift. He also realized that he was the great-grandson of their clan (his home-clan)'s progens. All this news of his history astounded him and thrilled his other clan-members. He was so happy to find that not only was his home-clan happy to hear from him but that they decided to befriend the clan that had been his home for so long. Companion and Familiar: When birds first started befriending dragons, he came along this Percher. It was shy, like him, but as he warmed up to him and it to him, they realized they had a lot in common. Now they are rarely seen apart. It is like his familiar. Speaking of which, his familiar and him are also very close. In fact, he was the first of the clan to have a familiar. The Death's-Head Stag was the first familiar of the clan. It was so skittish and wary of the other dragons that only Moss could get close enough. With his gentle and sweet disposition, he was able to bond with it. Watching his example, the other dragons in the lair eventually learned how to befriend familiars. But ever since then, he and his familiar have been incredibly close. It doesn't always stay with him, like the Percher, but they are incredibly loyal to each other, regardless of distance. Bought from AH on 10/24/13. (c) FlufferLover Quote:
