 		a dragon of light cast down into the shadows, calamity rejected her birthright as one of the lightweaver's children and fell into the shadowbinder's domain. born on the edge of the sunbeam ruins, she spent her days with her back to the all-seeing beacon of the radiant eye, instead peering down across the border to where no light could reach. her curiosity about that world and her rejection of light and truth as the ultimate virtues earned her the stern disapproval her neighbors, and she was soon ostracized and avoided.

deciding to take matters into her own hands and see for herself which was better- truth or lies, honor or deception, light or shadow-, she descended down the long, empty steps straddling the two lands, leaving behind the clear and fresh golden hills for a choked and covered wood. her journey challenged much of what she'd been taught, and she found that upon her return she was unable to believe in the teachings of the lightweaver in the same way. the sunbeam ruins could no longer be home to her, and so she retreated back into the dark as an outcast.

though at home in the carillon clan, calamity still roams through the shadows. with scales as dark as night, wings like an angel's, and a belly like spilled blood, she cuts quite an intimidating figure lurking amid the bramble and waste. she challenges the faith of any dragon she comes across, testing their convictions no matter what they may be. the world is not as black and white as some like to think, and the sense of security created by such beliefs is fragile. calamity aims to live up to her name and shake those foundations for better or worse.
