“I am strong, but I am tired, Israfiel, tired of always having to be the strong one, of always having to do the right thing.”
Ophanim, the beleagured clan leader. She's often viewed as beautiful but severe, mostly from a distance. She became the leader of her clan almost by happenstance. When she first arrived, there was such disarray and disorganization that the clan spent most of its time in petty bickering. Possessing a cooler head, she began to organize the clan in small ways, trying to get everyone to cooperate. Eventually, Lucent, the original clan leader, recognized that Ophanim possessed the talent for running the clan that she did not. Lucent asked Ophanim to lead the clan instead and Ophanim accepted.

She keeps most of the others emotionally separate from herself due to the burden of running the day-to-day activities of the clan. As much as the clan is one of artistic warmth, this means very few members of the clan help keep it organized and run smoothly. Most of this falls on Ophanim, often without thanks. She can be seen sometimes bent over several papers, looking tired and worn.

Lucent is the only one who Ophanim really talks to about her stresses other than her mate. She doesn't want to burden the other members of the clan and wants to maintain that professional distance. Israfiel is her doting mate, spending much of his time trying to remind Ophanim to take care of herself.
