It happens every so often- while on the road, travelers find that they can't go back to the clan they came from. Perhaps they were chased out, or their old caravan left without them. Sometimes an entire clan just goes missing, or falls into a magical slumber. Whatever the cause, these poor souls are left aimless, without a real home. They find themselves at the inn, just waiting to find some new direction for their lives.
