Wandering around on your own for a bit leads you to back to Ayne's room. His room is perfect, save for the rug which is is ajar, revealing a hatch to lower levels. Light doesn't reach the furthest depths of the tunnel, and after a minute or two of climbing, you reach the bottom.
The cavern is vast, much larger than all of the upper levels combined, and you find many dragons, all as still as stone. They are definitely alive, but beyond their obvious immobility, something seems off about them...
