The Great Destroyer is an unfathomable creature that feels nothing but the desire to devour divine energy.
As a universe lives its life, all the souls of all the dead gather as energy at the center of the universe. This energy is hoarded by the Plasmatican Gods. After usually 100 billion years, The Great Destroyer starts to damage that universe.
In response, the Plasmaticans use the energy of the souls to create a tear in space-time and leave the universe into the void. The leftover energy is taken with them, and inadvertently triggers The Big Bang, creating a new universe.
The Great Destroyer takes 100 billion years to fully devour a universe, it take 100 billion years for the universe to succumb to Atrophy. The Great Destroyer follows the residual energy left behind by the Plasmaticans to their universe, and the cycle continues.
