~The~Orwell~

A new clan peacefully staking claim in the Sundial Terrace. In this very harmonious society, even the more savage of Dragon breeds carry a very warm and pleasant atmosphere about themselves. This clan is built upon the ideals of free thought, truth, and compassion, and remains true to it's values through rain or shine. Always searching for new knowledge, wisdom, and perspectives, these dragons will engage in lengthy (almost droning to outsiders) conversations about the world around themselves. This also leads to the creation of repetitive in-jokes that many outsiders find themselves being taken aback by initially.

It should be noted that one would hear this clan before they would see it, as the clan is very rooted in the art of music. Drums and stringed instruments are typical within the clan, and many clan members would eagerly trade for new instruments given the chance.

Another ideal of high importance within the Orwell is the free expression of emotion. Sometimes mockingly called the "Therapist clan," The elder and high ranking members of the clan teach the importance of a healthy for the development and growth of the mind. That being the case, deception is not a common practice within the clan (although one should note that it does not mean that deception isn't one of the Orwell's strong points) The sharing of their most intimate thoughts and emotions only serves to bring the members of this clan closer together.

The Orwell's unique attitude of compromise and compassion often leads them to aiding clans who are either too small or too unbalanced to accomplish their goals. The Orwell never put a price on their assistance, and value the bond created between the two clans more than the material goods given to the clan as an offering. Because of this submissive and ready to please behavior, however, the Orwell has created the image of a clan of pushovers that can be conquered easily. While it is true that the clan is not centered around combat, the Orwell often use their environment and knowledge to their advantage. One common strategy when an invading clan attacks is to hide in the crevices of the terrace, stunning their opponents with mirrors or misleading them with the echos of their voices or instruments.

Small poly-amorous groups are common within the clan, but this does not often bridge between certain age gaps. The younger adults are typically more poly-amorous than the older adults, and as the clan travels from location to location, the practice of "one to one" or "three member" relationships is being adopted. While this new form of intimacy has been readily accepted by the clan, the concept of marriage and monogamy has not been introduced fully into the clan.
