Clan Info

This is a clan without an official name…but not for any particularly dramatic reason, they just haven’t gotten around to coming up with one yet! Other groups around them have taken to calling them “that clan of oddballs” or “the Oddball Clan” and that’s fine by them!

Originally a group of tabletop gaming buddies (shadow dragons do love to collect game pieces after all), they found themselves slowly spending more and more time together until the leader of the clan, Amethyst, and her mate, Orinth (who is really just some guy), found their second adopted hatching, Bloodscale, and called in the cavalry to nurse him back to health. The group found themselves all living together in the same cave and calling each other family. As a result of this origin, the clan is fairly new and made up of the sort of Oddballs who spend a bit too much time thinking about their rpg characters and debating the ins and outs of complex systems of rules.

The clan lives in an old manor on a cliffside that they renovated and repaired. They scouted this place out together after the youngest member of their clan was healthy enough to be moved from the cave his Amethyst and Orinth had been living in when they found him. The grand dining hall serves as their game room, with a collection of different tables of varying sizes surrounded by shelves upon shelves of games. However, the manor is only the tip of the iceberg. Underneath the manor is an expanse of tunnels and caves, some of which lead out to openings in the cliffside that serve as secret entry points, that have also been turned into storage and living spaces.

The clan leader Amethyst is a Guardian whose charge is the her family and therefore the clan itself. Everyone gets their say, but the others generally defer to her judgement (except in competitive games, those are every dragon for themselves). They all live by a few simple rules:
  • Game Night is twice a week, don’t miss it unless it’s serious.
  • If it’s serious enough that you want to miss game night, tell everyone about it.
  • If you can’t solve a conflict with a conversation, solve it with a game.
  • No drinks at the gaming table during wild games (or in the library at all).

Because the clan’s founding members were more of a found family that any sort of lineage, the Oddball Clan is made up of many dragons of different types, even those that tend to not get along or keep to themselves. Though, if you point that out to them, you’ll get a lot of strange looks.

It’s hard to describe how they accept new members, as it can seem a bit random, but if you love playing games and mesh well with the group, you’re more than welcome to stay a while!

(Please Note: their knowledge of what’s going on in the world aside from the newest game releases is limited at best)

Your clan's lore is so cute! I love the idea of a game night squad turned clan ;v; <3
