The first time you heard of it you were at work. It came in the form of a passing conversation.

"Yeah, I hear its bad," A pink tundra says to a wildclaw. "Apparently everyone who's got it so far is in the hospital, critical condition I think."

"Oh, that's just terrible," the wildclaw replies, shaking their feathered head. "Hopefully they find a treatment soon."

You didn't think much of it at the time and tuned them out. But now, as you flee your home town, you wish you had paid better attention.

Because something you nor those two random dragons would ever know is that the very next day after that conversation took place, the first patient escaped their hospital.
