The sapphire scaled Guardian gazed over the cliffside, contemplating. Yes,there was no doubt about it. This small secluded cove, seemingly in the middle of nowhere in the Sea of a Thousand Currents--this was it. The Guardian female--Saphira,she was called-- had thought that serving the Tidelord had been her calling. But now, this place...THIS was where her Search ended.
She continued to scan over this said cove, taking in every detail that she would know as soon as she saw it if anything was amiss. Several minutes later, she smiled with content, and set about finding her lair.
The sun had nearly sunk beyond the horizon before her first act came about. She had just finished carving out her lair,a nice spacious cave near the bottom of the cliff face. It was as she was inspecting said lair when she noticed the first thing out of place in her domain.
Saphira turned to see better down the shoreline and sure enough, something had washed ashore while she had been constructing.
Cautiously, she approached the object. As she grew closer, she realized that it wasnt just some debris that had been lost to the sea. No,now that she was closer, she could clearly see that was a creature. A Fae dragon to be exact.
Saphira came to stand above the Fae and realized that the unconscious creature had been heavily injured. Her snout crinkled with slight disgust at the sight. The Fae must have been caught by some larger or certainly fiercer creature to have done such damage.
The blue Guardian gazed at the fiery colored Fae thoughtfully and debated with herself. Finally, she decided to help the injured dragon. Gingerly, she picked him up,trying her best to move him as little as possible so as to not reopen his salt and sand encrusted scars. With the Fae cradled in one paw,Saphira made her way back to her new lair.
She had barely arrived to this new place, her Charge, and already her life was taking a new turn. Who knew, she thought to herself as she laid down the Fae in a corner of her lair, who knew what tomorrow may bring. And who knew where this would take her. She gazed out of the cave mouth and watched as the sun disappeared completely and plunged the world into varying shades of blue. Already she could see the reflecting moonbeams on the surface of the sea. Eventually, the lulling sound of the lapping tide drifted her to sleep...
