ongoing hatch for a plague primal
HiveMind09's Clan
Clan Info
Infectious and Contagion were originally an innocent Mirror and Fae. They were newly hatched adults, ready to begin their own clan. That was until the disease found them. This little infection was a direct “gift” from Plaguebringer herself (but not really). It drove them to their little home within the Wandering Contagion. The disease festered within them, slowly transforming their bodies into Aberrations, creatures of the rot. Like many lairs, they eventually collected clan members, their followers. These dragons would befall an unfortunate fate, but to Infectious and Contagion, it is the best fate that can be given to a dragon.
Hatchlings are sent to the Cesspools for their infection. The process is much kinder with caretakers Dalma and Sakon assisting them. Rather than being infected through a nasty bite, they are particularly submerged in pools of infected ooze. This helps them get a gradual infection, being fully infected by the time they are adults. The process for adults is much more brutal. They are brought to Infectious and Contagion to be infected. They are then bitten by one of their many heads and rapidly infected. This process can be very painful as the infection enacts a state of almost perpetual rot upon the body of the host.
Once a dragon is infected they get added to the Hivemind of the clan. Each dragon has their own role and maintains their personality but the mind of each dragon is connected to the sources, Contagion and Infectious. If one from their clan has seen you, they have all seen you. Thankfully only dragons going into that clan and dragons from it can be infected so you should be safe. The infection is hidden within a dragon and passed down generation to generation. It will dilute after time, but either way it is important to check if you or someone you know may be infected. Dragons from Infectious and Contagion are the most potent, being the original source of the disease. Dragons bred from this place are also potent, but not as much so since the infection was fused with their eggs.
There are different factions of the infected. There is the Contaminate, the leaders and important dragons to the clan. They are the main dragons giving the disease to newcomers and leading the Hivemind. The amount of these dragons is never truly known but evidence shows that it never goes over 15. The next is the Harbingers. Cold blooded killers, they have the more advanced stages of rot. It makes them violent and powerful despite their rotting bodies. And once they rot away, there are more to take their place. Then there is the Infestation, the nesting pairs of dragons. They nest and hatch eggs to spread the disease across Sornieth. They have red accents on all of them, a way their infection manifests itself. There is the Clairvoyance. These “clerics” offer a more approachable side of the clan though they are still very dangerous. They collect plants and herbs, healing those who need it. For outsiders they add a small dose of the disease, infecting them without their knowledge. In the end everyone who enters the clan rarely leaves without a little infection tagging along. Finally there is the Cesspool, a nursery for new hatchlings. It is run by Sakon and Dalma, caring parental figures. They guide new babies through the infection process, keeping them happy and comfortable.
At least this is what is known about the mysterious clan infected with an ancient disease. Just stay aware of the dragons around you, who knows what they could have brought home on their last adventure into the Scarred Wasteland…
