you seem to have stumbled into
A STRANGE PART OF THE WOODS

You're days from civilization.
The Rotrock Rim seems to stretch on forever, and you've about reached the end of your water supply.

As you approach the edge of the forest,
alive in pulsing, veiny growths,
a dim nook in the trees seems to call to you.

A path! Surely enough, you hear the sounds of life. Crackling bonfires. Laughter. A screeching cacophony of chordophones in the night.

Peaking through the wilting foliage, you see clusters of dens, huts and painted caves.
Dark enchantments glisten in rotting husks of trees.

A village. A thriving, decrepit village.
Dragons live in a place like this?

And live they did. The putrid reek of rot behind you startles you from your eavesdropping. You're faced with a pair of gleaming red eyes.

The dragon, eclipsed in shadow and soaked in the blood of it's kill, pushes past you and slinks towards the village.

Thanks! Your dragons are cool, too! I really like Mania. Bipolar mania is my true specialty, so I wanted a more obscure name to represent it. That's where Eskalith came from.
