As you wander through the endless abyss of the Abiding Boneyard, you come across a steel-forged door hidden in one of the dunes. It is bolted shut by several heavy locks, each one inscribed with runes of mysterious power. Yet somehow, the door beckons you and you know exactly what to do. Yes... you were called here.

You slice open a fingertip and draw a spell circle in blood on the hot, searing metal. You whisper an incantation - words you did not know you knew - and the door creaks open. A natural staircase, slick and damp, guides you into the warren of tunnels and caves that form the Necromancer's Workshop. Magical balls of green fire light your way into the darkness.

The tunnels appear to stretch for miles. In the distance, you hear the 'plink, plink' of mining tools on stone. You pass several off-shooting corridors. Some lead to hatcheries, where translucent green eggs bob in cauldrons full of slime. Others lead to laboratories, where the acolytes slice and reassemble cadavers. Still more lead to secret and hidden places - full of evil magic which you dare not speak of.

At last, you reach the final chamber - a great throne room. On a throne made of bone and obsidian, she perches like a queen. The Necromancer. "Welcome," she says in a voice as cool and smooth as the ice covering a lake. "We've been expecting you."
