The Village of Crest was a normal village once, but no longer. The songs, the art, the joys and merriment of the past were eclipsed by a sprawling, interwoven curse that sank its teeth into the very fabric of reality.

The wind ceased to flow and the skies turned black, grey looming clouds always threatening to rain, but none ever came. Oracles were consulted, mages from across the land were invited to help clear whatever plague had fallen upon the village. The locals were in chaos, frantically searching for something that would help them as strange creatures began to manifest around them. While many of these creatures were indifferent to their new home and its citizens, some had to be driven away; it was these malevolent forces that the village became infamous for.

Years passed, but no cure was found and mountains grew dull, lifeless, bleak. Towers were constructed to hold back the curse and its manifestations. While the village was eventually forgotten about, a mere utterance among the more superstitious dragons in the Wind territory, the village recovered and began to thrive, having discovered ways to combat and contain the beings that set out for the upheaval of Sornieth.
