Nimaina's Clan
Nimaland~
Clan Info
The clan is now nestled into the trench cliffs, too far from the surface for light to reach. Instead, the lairs glow from within. From the outside the light is faint, foggy moonlight. Inside however, the light is warm, mimicking tropical sunshine. Each bubble shaped area (communal zones, nesting grounds, individual and shared lairs) is wrapped in a pearlescent latticework. Created by a Ridgeback named Futura, these spheres and ovals combine magic and technology to create a barrier between the clan and the dangers of the deep. One deceptively delicate bubble is not imbedded into the cliffs but is instead tethered next to the largest bubble, the ovoid main common area. Big enough to hold one Imperial or a dozen Fae, this one is used to travel to and from the surface. Currently it can only make one round trip per day before it's magic must be recharged by clan members. As the clan grows, construction on a second travel bubble is being discussed.
The native water dragons are more comfortable with the deep sea and many elect to have a more natural lair. These, while still surrounded by the pearly barriers, are mostly dimmer, filled with water, and cooler. Depending on each dragons preference they may have a rocky, coral or sandy flooring. The shared areas include a large communal bubble, a larder and dining area, two smaller communal areas, the nesting grounds, a hatchling crèche, four workshops, a library, and one naturalized community bubble. These shared areas and the lairs of non water dragons are designed to mimic the shoreline, being warm and dry with sandy floors, with the workshops having stable stone flooring.
The bravest clan members are exploring the trench, finding secrets and relics in the depths. Roughly a fifth of the clan fulfills this role and they are almost all water dragons. About half of the remaining members work to catalogue and research their scouts findings. These scholars spend long hours in the library in investigations and discussion. Another fifth or so of the clan is made of crafts-dragons. They use both the scholars research and their own innovation in magic, technology, and alchemy to make enchantments and items to help their clan and hopefully the flight as a whole. The remaining clan members are a mixed bunch. They include the clan's oracles, a bard, and a storyteller, two dragons that act as chefs, a trio of hatchling sitters, and two Coatls that are obsessed with making fashionable jewelry for the clan.
