Recently back from a very long, unintended hiatus. Doing my best to catch up with all the changes :O

YES, I EXALT. If this is a problem, don't send me dragons. With that said, I do draw a sharp distinction between fodder dragons and those which are gifts or otherwise not to be exalted casually. So you DO NOT need to worry that I will exalt something you ask me not to exalt. If you want proof, check out how many 2-3 year old dragons I still own. :p

I'm also a regular on the adopt-a-dragon threads where you can give away dragons you specifically DO NOT want to be exalted. Mostly I'm seeking homes rather than seeking new dragons, but if I do ask for an adopt dragon, know that I DO NOT want to exalt it. I want it because it is simply too gorgeous for me to resist in spite of my constantly clogged lair. ;p I may not keep it forever, but as a rule, if I got it from the adopt threads, it will be returned there when I no longer want it.


There are actually two clans represented in this lair. The Hungry Ghost clan is the "real" one, the one that gets lore and which I imagine actually existing as an entity in the FR world. The various holiday and other "themed" dragons, for the most part, are simply an OOC project of mine. The concept of real-life holidays like Christmas or Halloween, for example, doesn't exist in FR so they're awkward to write lore for. As such I've decided to exclude them altogether and treat them as having only game existence rather than being real dragons in the lore. I may make exceptions for a few of them, but mostly, only the non-holiday-themed dragons are part of the Clan in lore.

Notes to self. Clan members:

Kushaze - Queen and leader-for-life.
Domination - Second in command. Leader of all rituals and reader of all omens that pertain to or come from the Plaguebringer.
Endgame - Third in command. As a Guardian, he is bonded to Kushaze and lives to defend her. (Little does he know that one day he will be mutated by Plaguebringer into a Coatl... wonder how he'll react to not being -compelled- to guard Kushaze's life anymore.)
Infestation - Official channel for the Plaguebringer and second to Domination where Plague rituals are concerned.
Graveminded - Corruptor, seducer, fount of dangerous logic. In charge of the psychological aspect of training exaltees, teaching them the glory and honor of being exalted to the Plaguebringer.
Aur - Official honor-banner of the clan. Totally brainwashed and mentally enslaved. Believes himself to hold an honorable position when in truth he is little more than a living billboard on which the clan tattoos and scarifies mementoes of their successes.
The Red Poison Devil - A very fatal femme. Smooth, intelligent, and conniving. Smart enough to realize, however, that she has no interest in the responsibility of leadership or duties, preferring to allow others to do the hard work of running the clan so she can spend as much of her time as possible indulging her various whims.
Jorrhemaul - A daughter of the Red Poison Devil, one of the few to stick with the clan instead of joining the exaltation track or being sold to another clan for needed resources. She is just as hedonistic and intelligent as her mother, but is more interested in leadership. She is smart enough to realize that the risk of a coup isn't worth the reward, though, so she's doing her best to catch Kushaze's eye and earn a higher place in the group through being indispensable.
Trifecta - The Red Poison Devil's son, an older offspring and the only other to remain with the clan long-term. He and Jorrh were born centuries apart and have little or no relationship on a family level, though they recognize their kinship intellectually. Trifecta is like a dark, twisted version of the stereotypical Spiral - quick-moving, clever, and maliciously mischievous. His behavior ranges from merely impish to downright demonic, though he is wise enough not to anger any of the more powerful members of the clan with his antics.
Deviltry - A Lightning-born Ridgeback who is Trifecta's mate. She keeps track of the clan's resources, alerts Kushaze when the clan needs to move on to let an area's prey recover, and takes the lead in dealmaking when buying or selling with other clans.
Void - The official sage and magic-master of the clan, reader of all omens and conductor of all rituals that don't have to do with the Plaguebringer directly (which is most of them, even though the clan mostly roams within the boundaries of Plague territory).
Ultraviolet - A savage killer, one of the clan's two top warriors.
Hibiscus - An Ice-born beast with a colder heart than most of her kin. Left her homelands in search of challenge, found herself bored everywhere until she came to Plague territory.
Poppy - Hibiscus's mate. As ferocious and temperamental as she is cold and unemotive. If Hibiscus were ever to die, his plan is to carry her body away and then kill himself so the two will become an Emperor. Knows this plan is insane, doesn't care. In the meantime, he is obsessive, jealous, and possessive of his mate, yet obsequious toward her at the same time.
Bloodtide - A rare (according to Coatl lore) Plague-born Coatl. He and his mate, another Plague-born Coatl, are making a point of refusing to return to the Ashfall to reproduce, wanting to establish a society of Coatls that are native to the Scarred Wasteland and devoted to the Plaguebringer above all. Vicious. Likes to bite. Very religious and hangs on the words of Domination and Infestation (and Void to a lesser degree).
Asenath - Herbalist, poisoner, assassin. Not as proficient in magic per se as some of the other clan members, but very skilled in the use of plants, fungi, and other natural resources to heal, harm, and intoxicate... mostly the latter two, but she can be useful within the clan as well, especially after battles.
Forensic - Sire of Gothic. Extremely devoted to Plaguebringer and views this clan as being especially favored by the goddess, and so he follows them closely, though isn't entirely considered one of them.
Gothic - Having been born within the clan, Gothic is more accepted as one of them than her sire is. She frequently studies magic and omen-reading with Void and Domination.
Requiem - One of the clan's hunters. Fierce and wild, but too physically fragile for much combat duty due to constant infectious 'blessings' by Plaguebringer. Frequently under Asenath's dubious care.
Nitokris - Cunning and ambitious, yet too wise to challenge Kushaze openly. Unlike Jorrh, she is biding her time, watching for an opportunity to rise in station.
Brokenglass - One of the clan's hunters. A skilled forager and omen-spotter, even if she can't interpret them.
Grenache - Too lazy to want to deal with fighting for survival on his own, trails along with the clan because he can take advantage of the benefits of living in a group. Will join in to hunt or forage and will fight in combat if directly attacked, but does as little as he can get away with. Views himself as 'above' that sort of menial labor.
Twilight - Kushaze's current mate. Knows he is only the latest in a string of males who all end up exalted eventually, but determined not to share their fate. Good luck to him...

Possible Theme Dragons to Include in Clan?

Crimescene and Exsanguination - appropriate look/colors, can ignore the whole New Years thing in their lore.

Passion - Just looks like a beast.

Heartlines - Has the right look. Again, can ignore the Valentine's Day thing in lore I guess?

Opium and Pipesmoke - Because dragons this fluffy and cute-colored SHOULD be evil. Plus, vaguely creepy names.

Hobgoblin and Bewitched - Kind of difficult names, but I just love these two so much it's hard to leave them out...

Promises and Potions - Fine looks, but REALLY difficult names. Guh why did I do this to myself. But I love that name pair. x.x

Serannian and Celephais - Unsure if keeping, so unsure if should include and write lore for.
