The blizzard whirled around her ears, the screeching wind pressing against her neck. Karnala squinted her eyes against the cold, taking deep breaths. She could barely see anything let alone a shape, a figure! Karnala started to close her eyes in the wintry night thinking of her mother, hoping, wishing, she was there. Karnala opened her mouth and started to roar. It was a majestic, beautiful roar. Hints of song emblazoned inside of her voice. Dragon heads turned from a mile away to see where the voice came from. As it stopped, they all became disappointed and trudged on through the cold. As young Karnala laid there in the treacherous wintry land she would not know that soon, soon, her destiny would unfold.
