On the edge of the Tangled Wood and the Sunbeam Ruins, there are only tales of what lies deep in the forest. Between twisting trees that rake the sky and brambles that coil like snakes, the unknown creaks and slithers and whispers. Swathes of fern engulf the ground, moss creeping over crevices of bark and stone, mists entwining contorted branches and lanky trees. Those who stray from the path are bound to get lost, and those who get lost are bound not to return. It smells of soil and rain and decaying leaves, the pungent scent of earth trapped beneath fingernails. The cold clings to skin, bites through bone. Buried beneath pine needle and green thicket, those of myth and lore reside, the creatures of ghost stories and fairy tale dwell, traveller’s story awoken.

“Enchanted.” She whispers, awe captured in starry eyes.

“Eerie.” He shivers, stilling the tremble in his hand.

“Treacherous.” They whisper, watching the sky warily.

A lantern burns out, a howl breaks the air, a hand brushes your shoulder, a song hums by the river, a foot trips in night, a sky dwindles to darkness, a voice whispers in your ear, a light wreathes the leaves.

“You have been warned, traveller.” A caw splits across the stars as you step forwards into the trailing fog, “Welcome to The Sonderwyrm Wood.”

That's what happened to my clan too, hahah. I didn't do a creative backstory though, just a couple of losers who started hanging out in the woods hahah. BUT STILL. I'm excited to read through all your dragon bios cause I just realised how much lore aw yiss
