Just past the Gladeveins proper, close to the craggy cliffs that drop off into the sea, there is a sanctuary for the weary journeybeast.

The gorge that walls in the swale still bears the marks of the great roaring river that shaped it; bands of dark red clay and glimmering quartz streak through the miles of exposed stone, mirroring the breeze that ruffles the grass growing between long-dry river stones.

A great tree grows along the apex, an ancestor of the mangroves that clamber over the east wetlands. Thick strong roots have anchored deep into the ground and, as if to make it even more immovable, up along the walls of the gorge as well. There is something serpentine about the way the tree is situated, as if an immense beast had laid down a millenia ago and the land had grown around it.



The dragons of Chrestomathy are not a vain lot...BUT I TOTALLY AM.
