Why are all my fodder named Byte? Well, originally I just figured that The Arcanist could use some more memory...

Deep within the Starwood Strand, there lies a hillock that has the stench of ozone and magic lying over it. Occasionally, from a valve that leads deep within, a puff of…something…is released to dissipate. On one side, overlooking a glade, is a great metal door, usually open, guarded by Golems. This is the Gate of Infinity, entrance to the lair of Clan Arkatek. And within, wonders are made. As are mistakes. But as long as one learns from their mistakes, it’s progress, right?
The structure of the lair mimics the structure of the clan itself. The further one descends into the spacious bowels of the earth, the more important the area is. Mainly because things have less effect on the outside world if they explode down there.
At the top of the lair, with easy entrance and egress, lies to nests and workshops of the Mith. When the clan first set up their lair, they had inadvertently disturbed a swarm. After several fierce battles, an accord was reached. In exchange for protection from predators, a home, and not being eaten, the Mith would serve as retainers around the lair, and also assist with some of the experiments. There are just some times when one needs a few dozen extra pairs of hands.
Below this are the living quarters of the Unaugmented. These are the dragons that have not had the bio-arcanic circuitry embedded into their systems. For the most part, they’re given free rein to do what they want, usually some form of creative expression, but often they are called on to do some testing, to make sure that projects are safe for ordinary dragons. The other main task that they have is to simply monitor the servitor Golems that are busy doing tasks like gathering food, mining out the lair, or doing other tasks that don’t require the dexterity of a dragon or a Mith.
Lower yet are the sparse, but comfortable, living quarters of the Augmented. No longer simply subsisting on food alone, it is here where they plug into Arcanic Generators to recharge, and enter a pseudo-dreaming state. Other than the enormous generators that drain the energy from the surrounding land, this area is Spartan at best, for few of the Augmented spend time away from their projects if they can help it.
At the very bottom, and most expansive, levels are the Workshops, the Forges, and the Laboratories. No matter what an individual dragon calls it, it is their home, and life. It is here that the dreams of Clan Arkatek are realized. Such varied projects as Golem Design, Arcanic Research, and Genegineered Food are conducted down here. The entire purpose of their hard work is, seemingly contradictorily, to eliminate the need for hard work for dragonkind. It is the shared belief of all Arkatikes that all should only do things they want to do. It is their belief that this will enrich culture and contentment throughout Sornieth. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen…

cool lair and lore!!
Trojan was on the front page!
Yo! I just bought one of your Bytes from the AH with the intention of exalting him, but his parents lore is fly as hell, so I'm kind of rethinking it! You've got one of the coolest lore I've seen! Awesome job!
I was poking around the forums and data showed up in an art thread I was browsing. just wanted to congratulate (commend? having trouble finding just the right verb.) you on having such a cool dragon!
man it's been a while that i played around with binary code! tried to translate your broadcast message outta my head. Messed up first letter , ended up with a P as the first letter >>
