Theme Week: Winter Dragons!
dghterofthestars' Clan
Founded by Iridis, Guardian of the Orphaned
Clan Info
Iridis had always been on her own - even as a young hatchling catching mice and bats to eat. She was an abandoned egg - laid by a new or unwilling mother and assumed to be dead or abandoned regardless.
Her interactions with others of her kind had been limited by her lack of a family and heritage. Tired of being looked down upon simply for being an orphan, she asked for a bit of space to make her own contributions. Gracious as always, the Lightweaver allowed it.
The living space she started is now home to many young dragons - most of them from other places and faraway lands, and most of them looking for something more. Some of them will be temporary and some will make their homes here, but all are welcome under Iridis' wing - never will someone in her charge feel abandoned or unwanted.
The Lightbringer was pleased with his follower's use of the space, and blessed her with beautiful gold markings that mark her as a loyal Light sentinel and the Guardian of the Orphaned.
Unfortunately, times change. The stomping and destruction of Luminax was distant enough at first, but the pebbles on the Promenade started shifting as the quakes became more frequent, more alarming.
Iridis is at the inland edge of her territory where she hears the distant, garbled, and intertwining roars. The clan leader watches as their constructed guardian Shamira ceases her pacing and stiffly turns her head, quietly alerting to the danger.
Andromeda appears at Iridis' side, observing the same thing, and whispers that it might be time to go. Iridis' home and heart is in the Sunbeam Ruins. But she cannot deny that her charges are afraid. She sighs and nods, and her green-eyed friend slips away to start the necessary preparations.
