She let out a yawn, still tired from her nights rest, knowing that it would be another busy day. Letting her eyes adjust, they settled on a rectangular object with what appeared to be writing scribbled across it. A reminder of the to-do-list she had written out the night before. She was meaning to visit the inventor today and the clan’s trusty mechanic to enquire about a new mechanism that would allow her to feed the familiars in routine whilst she was out on her travels with the clan’s coliseum warriors. Placing them back at her sides, she marched in to the next room and set about breakfast. After eating the most important meal of the day, she fed her housemates and was out the door. On her way she spied the clan’s guard, new to their clan and settling in rather awkwardly. No one knew who he was; he wasn’t originally from either of the two clans that had recently merged together. Wounds were still fresh, especially his. He was a survivor of one of the fallen clan’s and a mystery to theirs. He held an important role, strange considering no one knew anything about him. She lifted a clawed palm and waved at the newly appointed guard though it didn’t appear that he had noticed her greeting, if he had, he hadn’t bothered to return the gesture. Approaching the door to the inventor’s workshop, she took a deep breath in, lifted her hand and knocked several times. He hardly knew the members of the Clan of Falling Leaves and they knew nothing of him. He liked it that way. He wasn’t in this position to make friends, or to attend their tea parties. He was here to protect them and stop them from killing each other, ironic considering they were the people who obliterated everything he knew. Still, they had been kind enough to welcome him in to their home and allowed him to construct his own shelter in a spot of his choice. He rolled his shoulders loosely and kept his eyes trained on the borders of the village while he paced its line. It was a quiet clan, mostly, and disputes rarely erupted in violence. There had to be something of interest, some tradition that broke the peace, some hustle and bustle that would provide him with some form of a challenge. Then again, the day had only just begun; perhaps there was more to being a guard in this clan than he was giving it credit for?

“Mmm… Is it morning already?” Opening an eye to the day that was the forever night, Sheria could only see the tangled shades of blue and purple. In this wilderness there was no daylight. She still felt pretty tired. However, she knew she had to; she would need to do her task of taking care of the hatchling and she was the only one. She groaned before getting up and stretching her wings before heading out from her nest. She wondered, what would today bring, or would it be a normal day?

As a warrior she would have to fight in the coliseum against all kinds of creatures. She shined her pieces of armor so that they gleamed in the light of the sun peeking up over the horizon. Growling to herself, she set to sharpening her long claws. The sound of the sharp weapons against her favorite rock filled the area. Finishing her chores she looked out of her den. She still had some time before her fellow warrior woke up, so why not take a sniff around? The female nocturne stepped out and strapped on her armor and brass gloves, smiling at the sound the metal made as it scraped across other pieces of the protective material. She looked out across the leafy land that was her home and smiled. Today would be a good day for fighting.

"Ah! Oh, hello Julian," Melody said in surprise before calming herself down. He came up to her so suddenly. She then looked at him, confused. "Eggs? Um... I'm a Hatchling Sitter, so I'm not sure how the eggs are.... And you were close on my name, but it's Melody." She couldn't help but give him a small smile back. It seemed that some dragons kept mixing up what she did, but she was used to it. She didn't mind so much though. If she wasn't a Hatchling Sitter, she probably would be a Egg Sitter.

Oh. Close enough. Before continuing, he peeks over his shoulder, making sure the leaders' home was still in sight. And it was-- he could pounce on an intruder with ease should they try to be sneaky while he talks to his clanmates. "Sorry about that, Melody. In that case, how are the hatchlings doing? Any ready to hunt for themselves? Feel free to bring them by anytime to learn how to defend others. Should I not be here, I'm sure Corellon wouldn't mind being a shadow." The Imperial knew absolutely nothing about Corellon.

He flapped his wings just once, the gust strong enough to knock back many an unbalanced or weak dragon. He hadn't had a chance to stretch all morning.
