The Explorers Guild
A place for all those dragons with a sense of adventure

Hello and welcome to the Explorers Guild! I am Celaena, the guildmaster. I’m sure you’re curious as to what we do here. Well, let me tell you, it is nothing short of the grandest adventures and the most thrilling journeys! Feel free to take a look around, even if you’re not joining us we have many shops set up around our base that carry all sorts of merchandise that may interest you. If you’d like to join us, then head just down this path to the right and you’ll see a blue Imperial with a scroll case and a blue feathered cap. That’s Tiberius, he’s in charge of exploration team registrations. You can request to join an existing team, if it’s not full, or find some companions and create your own! If you have a mission request for us, find a gold Spiral with seafoam wings. Her name's Brook, and she's in charge of missions. I hope you enjoy your visit!

Rules

Refuse to be mean! Please be polite and kind to other players OOC. Obviously if your characters are having an argument or something, that’s fine.
Obey the general roleplay etiquette roles, no god-modding, mary-sues or gary-sues, etc. etc. Try to avoid OOC chatter as much as possible, and place any OOC chat in parethesis ().
Let’s keep this roleplay appropriate for any of the younger kids who may want to join in. Any sort of mating scenes should fade to black, and please avoid excess gore and violence.
Try to be as active as possible. I’m very understanding if you have a lot of schoolwork, go on vacation, or whatever. If you’re going to be gone for awhile, please try to alert me and your team members so we’re not all wondering if you’ve disappeared off the face of the earth.
You cannot have an exploration team of entirely your own dragons – At least one other player has to have a dragon in it

How the Guild Works

The Guild - Main Thread
This thread is the main guild hall for the Exploration Guild. It is a roleplay, not an OOC chat, so please post from the perspective of your dragons. If you must say something OOC, such as requesting to be on the pinglist, try to put it in parenthesis at the top or bottom of an rp post. Your dragon may register to become a member of an exploration team here, or just roleplay hanging around the guild hall or roaming the marketplace.

Exploration Teams and Registration
All members of the guild are divided into exploration teams, small groups of dragons who will travel together on the various expeditions. When registering for the guild, a dragon will have the option of being placed in an already existing guild randomly or of their choosing, or creating their own. This is an rp, so if you want to join, just roleplay your dragon entering the guild and registering with Tiberius. No need to ask me OOC beforehand, or anything. Do keep in mind this does NOT mean you can roleplay as Tiberius accepting your forms, you may write when he is handing your dragon the forms or greeting them, but please do not assume that you are accepted immediately. Wait until one of the mods or I check your app and then roleplay a response using Tiberius. If you find some other dragons searching for teams and decide to form a team after joining, just have one person fill out the part of the form for creating a new team.

Exploration teams have a limit of twelve dragons per team, and therefore you may have up to twelve players on your team if all of you only have one dragon. You may have up to three of your own dragons on a single team, but there is no overall limit on the number of dragons you have that are guild members.

Expeditions and Missions
The main part of being in the Explorers Guild: going out on expeditions! Expeditions are journeys to explore places known as dungeons (Pokemon, anyone?) that appear and disappear randomly throughout Sornieth. Every dungeon will have missions available for explorations teams to take on. Your exploration team may take one mission for any one expedition at a time, and once you've roleplayed your team signing up you may go to the expedition thread where your team will work to accomplish their mission. You don't have to take on a mission to enter the dungeon, your team could simply head out on the expedition to explore. It's all up to you. The dungeon will be created by one of our Dungeon Designers, listed in the staff section, and the thread will include a description of what the dungeon is like, what sort of creatures can be encountered there, and the goal of the expedition. Once you're there, it works pretty much like a regular roleplay. You may run into other teams, monsters, traps, or whatever during your exploration. Once your team has accomplished their mission or finished exploring, they return to the guild (this thread) and are free to embark on another expedition.

More on missions:
The dungeon designers may have a few missions already set up for their dungeon, but the rest of the missions will be up to you! You can have any of your dragons visit the guild with a mission request, and if it is accepted then exploration teams may take on these missions. I will post a form to fill out if you have a dragon that wants make a mission request. Also, only one exploration team can take on a mission at once, so once a team has gone out on a mission, no one else can take that mission, unless that team fails. When you are roleplaying missions and also expeditions, please be realistic. Your team isn't always going to succeed on their mission, and sometimes they'll have to return to the guild empty-handed. If your team fails a mission, they can take on another or simply go on the expedition to explore, but you may not take the same mission twice in a row, so that another team may have a chance to attempt it.

Mission Categories:
Rescue (Rescuing a lost or injured dragon from within the dungeon)
Retrieval (Retrieving an item from the dungeon that the client lost)
Escort (Escorting a dragon through the dungeon, for various reasons)
Treasure Hunting (I think this is pretty self-explanatory)
Mapping (A team is sent to map the dungeon to the best of their ability.)
Exploration (These are missions assigned by the guild, and are basically just an opportunity to go out and explore the dungeon to find whatever can be found.)

Whether it's rescues, escorts, you name it! So, I'll need you to fill out this form for me," she thrusts a small piece of parchment your way, "then I'll check it out and post it on the expeditions board under the dungeon your job is located in. If you could wait here a bit once you've filled it out so I have time to look through it, that would be just great! My name is Brook, by the way, I manage missions here at the guild."

Moderator - Monitors the main thread and expedition threads to make sure everyone is following the rules. Also checks applications. Mods will rp the acceptance of forms if I don't get to them first (use Tiberius for accepting forms). Ping me when you've accepted a form so I can update the front page.
Dungeon Designer - Designs the dungeons for our exploration teams to explore and creates the expedition threads. You must pm me a sample dungeon you come up with to be accepted for this position.
