im seeing a lot of these around, so why not jump on the bandwagon??
my main issue is that im suuuuper picky with names, and i just... want one that fits the dragon, so id love if you guys can help me with suggestions!!
warning this is a long one, i have 24 of these unnamed unfortunate fellows!
'Nightwing'
first up is a boy who already has a strong nickname that if i cant think of a better name.... he might end up getting it. but facts abt him would be:
-he's one of my clan's rouges, as in, a subsection of the clan's fighters who are good at sneaking
-since our clan isnt really a warring one he... has a lot of pent up energy, he's redirected his efforts into pranking other clan members with kaffi
-annoyed the clan leader's son so much as a hatchling that he ended up being trained by him
-because his teacher was a guardian, he's not afraid of water. uses this to his advantage 2 annoy his mate
-comes of as a big scary dude but in reality is the biggest goof.
'Sombra'
this girl also has a nickname, but i dont want it to be her actual name, so
-she's a rogue like nightwing up there
-shes more reserved and serious than him though
-and takes her job very seriously
-her familiar can warp around her like glue, and surround her in shadows
-hence i want her name to relate to shadows in some way
'desert dust'
unlike the first two she doesnt really have a go-to nickname and i kinda changes everytime
-shes not really apart of the clan, but a trader from the shifting expanse that just really likes visiting
-she spends the majority of her time wandering the desert bc its fun for her
'Wix'
wix is short for 'wixard' tbh, a typo of wizard.... wix has kinda grown on me but i wonder if a better name if out there? or maybe wix works??
-like i said, theyre a wizard
-hes a bit (read: a lot) of a trickster
-usually it stays between him and his familiar, but he doesnt shy from going after other dragons
-especially if they've insulted or threatened ones he dares about
'alchem'
this nickname is.... not much of a name but its works... im just... not gonna name her alchem..
-she tends to dabble in things she shouldnt. a lot
-she summoned a demon-wraith-thing and then... started to date it. absolutely has her priories straight.
-also somehow has an apprentice. no one thinks that said apprentice is safe, but well, they're both strong headed women so good luck trying to stop them.
-toying with danger is her favorite pass time
'wraith'
that deamon she summoned? this guy.
-his name could probably relate to dreams in a way?
-he kinda feeds on other dragons dreams, wants, goals, aspirations, ya'know, those things
-hes 'fun' to be around
- as, dont linger around him unless youre stupidly assured of yourself and dont second guess anything you do.
'healer's girl'
she.. doesnt really have a go-to nickname, but they tend to all be variants of that
-she's the main healer's apprentice
-she likes to garden and grow herbs
-shes a bit soft spoken, but big on helping others.
-shy to the point that she stares at dragons hoping that they can read her mind but... they cant.. and she just comes across as slightly creepy. oops.
'constella'
her nickname is a little too on the nose for me, which is why.. its not her name.
-something related to stars would be great
-she's meant to literally be made out of stars and space and nebulous gasses
-she was summoned into being by another dragon in my clan
-by that i mean the dragon majorly messed up a spell and is lucky that he got a sentient mass of space that is more interested in marveling over the small things that exist (a BUG!?!?!) than wreaking havoc
-she has wiggly sight bc tiny things are just so cute and she loves them and ohmygodhowdidntsheknowsuchsmallthingscouldexist???
-i.e. she loves existence and she loves life!!!
'pink mage'
i seem to have a pattern here because...
-this is the dude with an ego so big he tried to mess with the cosmos
-(its funny bc alchem meant to grab smth from the unknown and... brought smth bad and pink mage here didnt mean to grab basically another dragon but.... at least its benign)
-he also likes messing w things he shouldnt... but not out of curiosity and a 'lamo lets screw with things!' attitude but a 'im great and magnificent, theres no way i'd mess this up' attitude
-he makes up for his bad habits by like.. having a familiar to clean up his messes. if his endeavors create malevolent magic why not have a guy who basically feeds on magic? if it eats the errors, theres no error! what would go wrong!
'lagoon guard'
a girl i got as a gift!
-her charge is a lagoon that is extremely hard to find, like, nearly impossible to find if it doesnt want to be
-that is, to dragons other than her, for some odd reason
-and its not even clear is she's protecting the lagoon, for others from it
-on the rare chance that a dragon stumbles across the lagoon, she watches, hidden from sight, and only interferes if the dragon is unable to resist the lagoon's pull
'just a lake'
i seem to have a pattern with a 'regular' dragon n than a 'mystical' one. good thing both of them are odd in their own ways this time...
=the lagoon that the guardian guards? the dragon emerged from it one day. and for some reason it didn't send off her 'intruder' senses
-guardian doesnt know if she should trust it yet
-just might be what she could be protecting others from
-neither really know
-its just really creepy
-(and alluring)
-creepy water names maybe?? i dont know
'mystery nerd'
who is he? i dont know
-if its helpful, he's in pink mage's group of Nerds™
-a snooty sound name maybe??

she knows more than she lets on
-also a dragon with minimal lore
-knowledge burns bright in her eyes
-ask her something, she dares you
-her favorite line to say is 'dont ask questions you dont want the answer too'
-because she can and will turn her truthful answer into something that hurts
'swamp witch'
cant u tell im losing steam? this might be why they dont have names Xc
-she's big on doing her own thing
-is living life in her own swampy way
-nature n plague who? shes just existing in her own chill way
-somehow manipulating both elements...
-kinda secretive
'its just a fish bro'
its literally in his lore that he doesnt have a name
-but it would be cool for him to have a name that he tells to the few beings he trusts
-personality? chill.
-a water related name of course
