Theme Week: Mortal Enemies | Dragon Share

They're not quite enemies in which they're trying to kill each other (though it might seem like that on several occasions), but my Monera and Yui verbally spar and physically fight A LOT. It might be because they're both guards and Yui is very touchy if someone does a job - especially if it regards the safety of the clan incorrectly. She's always watching Monera and snapping at her in case she missteps, and Monera, who's not the type to listen to just anyone, and has been fending for herself longer than for a group of dragons that doesn't benefit her in anyway, snaps right back :') I think their fighting and disagreeing has gone on for so long no one is really sure what started them disliking each other in the first place. They're fights have led to both of them trying their best to be guards for the clan - Monera doesn't want to do any less than Yui can, and competition gives Yui a reason to be extra alert, so it helps a bit. Sciens is a pretentious little upstart. He doesn't respect order or those with years of experience when it comes to inventing and crafting. He'd rather goof off and design frivolous inventions instead of working on things that are actually needed or useful. Why he is permitted to remain in the clan eludes me.

Jeine is just jealous that I am infinitely more creative in my little toe than she ever was. Anything you can do, I can do better - and one day you WILL admit it. And who doesn't like a few explosions to get the blood pumping!? Stop being a stick in the mud and open your eyes to the possibilities!

evan is one of the leaders of the creatures to the ashen swamp. the creatures have formed a loose band together and decided to try and take their home back from the kingdom. they frequently steal livestock, crops, and vandalize the walls surrounding the kingdom.

rhiannon is the queen of lunem, the kingdom that forced the creatures away from their homes to build up their territory. she harbors hatred for the mythic creatures because she was attacked by one before she ascended to the throne; now her son and heir has been revealed to be a changeling (and not a mere foundling as once was thought) she has done more to fight against the creatures.

But then the clan leader (well, we don't really have a leader, do we? heh) stepped in and discarded the disputed possessions. All three of Illusion's belongings were locked in a chest far, far away at the bottom of the Tempest Spire. Poor Illusion. No wonder he couldn't even be in the same lair as Stewart. You see, later one day, when Stewart was actually doing its duties guarding the lair entrance, Illusion snuck up behind him and gave him a little nudge... ... over the cliff towards the locked chest. Well, when Stewart finally climbed its way back to the lair (its mechanical wings couldn't bear its weight lol), the clan decided that its safety was more important than Illusion's happiness. Wrong choice. So now Illusion wreaks just a [i]little[/i] more havoc than before the fateful day of Stewart's delivery. He has grudgingly agreed to being the clan's battle scribe and records the important loot of the day. And he keeps the scrolls locked away, so the clan can't get rid of him. Because, at the end of the day, their battle records are more important than their robot safety guard.

Illusion and Stewart.

Before Stewart's delivery, Illusion was the clan's sole trickster. He fully enjoyed his full-time career of trickery.

But then, a day came when some stupid, stupid dragon ordered a new addition to the lair security regiment. This new addition came by the title of "Sassy Tyrannical Evil Wicked Aggressive Rambunctious Troublemaker, a.k.a. S.T.E.W.A.R.T.

Stewart, or Stew as the same stupid dragon called it, not only ~~lived up to~~ -- rather, performed well beyond its title. Not only was it obnoxious and overbearing, but it also picked up a minion from the junkyard that acted exactly like it, stole Illusion's infamous invisibility cloak, and for that matter, broke nearly all of the functioning lair security features.

Mindspin is the clan's fortuneteller. He's as sly as he is cunning and he loves to make fun of Pirate. Even though he denies it, he sees the other dragon as his rival.

Aldari and Toxicodendron, here in Goldenstorm to compete to see who can be the greatest nuisance to the clan's productive activities. They became mortal enemies when Aldari was going to mix all of the food together in the storage... then she saw that someone did it already. Thus, a rivalry was born.

Cazudeni said it was all because Galahad was born as a large, pudgy coatl instead of a wildclaw, and considered him to be far inferior to his sister. Galahad admitted to this story, and despite being given a higher rank in his clan than his own father, he always hated the extra harshness applied to him as a hatchling, because he wasn't as strong. That pain helped him grow to be a leader.

There is little to no chance that they would ever become satisfied.

Zim is an alien bent on dominating and/or destroying all of Sornieth (y'know, whichever comes first), and Dib is determined to do anything to stop him. They hate each other so much that if they so much as glance at each other, their respective mates have to hold them back to prevent them from killing each other.

It's even worse when you take into consideration that Zim's son Miz and Dib's daughter Asterisk are in love with each other - something that their fathers will immediately blame each other for if either of them ever found out.

Stephanie is, quite literally, the heart and soul of the clan, even if she isn't their leader. She has the ability to strengthen bonds and heal souls, her sole job in the clan is to bring peace.

As Stephanie is a peacekeeper, Cassa is a peacekiller. She has the ability to break bonds and poison souls, her sole purpose in life is to create chaos.

Being the bringers of life and death, peace and chaos, they are forever locked into battle, of which only one can win.
