Lore
Eons ago, there was a sect of Wildclaw's who were loyal to the Flamecaller above all others, even their own deity, the Gladekeeper. They traveled from the Viridian Labyrinth all the way to the Ashfall Waste to be close to their chosen Goddess.
Needing to prove their worth to her, they were determined to become her most loyal, skilled warriors. To prove their worth, they submerged themselves into the deepest lava pools in the heart of the Ashfall Waste, absorbing and ingesting the life sustaining element touched by the Flamecaller herself.
The lava of the Flamecaller brought on changes to the Wildclaws, changing their element from Nature to Fire and is appears as though their scales changed to shades of red, orange and yellow; when in fact their bodies are translucent and the colour you see is the swirling lava trapped beneath their scales. Forever swirling like tiny pools, the gift the Flamecaller gave to them for their bravery.
The act of submerging themselves into lava is now a right of passage to new generations of Molten Scars; the deeper they submerge themselves the deeper and darker the color of their bodies as there is a greater concentration of lava in such a small spot. However, there is always a risk when swimming so deeply in the pools of lava, and not all Molten Scars make it back to the surface and it is the belief that only the elite that are touched by the Flamecaller survive.
Variant
There are variant's to the Molten Scars, colour changes that are brought on when a Molten Scar submerges itself into a lava pool that is not in the heart of the Ashfall Waste. Where minerals and metals leech into the pools, staining the colour the Molten Scars come out as.
The copper variant is one such; these are Wildclaws that submerge themselves in pools of lava on the border of the Ashfall Waste and the Windswept Plateau, where copper deposits are common.
The Sulfur variant is a new variant that has appeared as Molten Scars begin to spread further out from the heart of the Ashfall Waste, dipping themselves into the lava rivers that boarder the Ashfall Waste and the Shifting Expanse, where sulfur deposits are plentiful.
Beliefs
Seeing themselves as above other dragons of the Fire Flight, Molten Scars are often full of themselves and perfectionists. They believe they have been chosen by the Flamecaller herself as her proud warriors and soldiers, keeping other flights out of her territory.
Although not always warriors, Molten Scars will always excel at whatever task they are working on. This can lead to obsessive behaviours and cause a Molten Scar to burn out much earlier then other dragons.
Home
Molten Scars are most commonly found in the Ashfall Waste, in the molten scar, for which they were named, but they are beginning to migrate out of their comfortable home and out into the world.
Favored Materials/ Trinkets

Favored Apparel
Warriors
Molten Scars who are warriors will favor armour of any kind, but the finer the metal it is made from, the higher on the Molten Scar is in the social hierarchy. Because of this, they strive to be able to wear Gold Filigree Armour.

Scientists
The most intelligent Molten Scars will be recruited for clan scientists and researchers. Their favored apparel are thick gloves and lab coats as well as any apparel that they deem important for their research.
Skins
Molten Scars who don't submerge themselves deep enough into Lava will find that they will begin to cool, giving them a broken appearance, their scales will become brittle and easily break. To revitalize the lava that is trapped under their scales, they will have to submerge themselves more often to absorb the needed material to survive.
