|| Dragons in The Clan ||
|| Leader ||
Leaders rule the clan and listen and tend to their subjects wants, needs, and quarrels. They are generally the peacekeepers of the clan and overseer that the thorns, sages, and crafters are doing the things they need to do. They also appoint brambles to mentors. Leaders are elected by the clan, but can serve until death if the clan allows it and if the leader doesn’t resign themself. However, leaders either have to be born in the clan, or have been residing in the clan for five or more years. There are always two leaders, and the leaders can’t be closely related or be mates. Leaders tend to be middle aged dragons, but young adult leaders aren’t too uncommon.
|| Deputy ||
The deputy is the second-hand to the leader, and rule in place of a leader if the leader is sick, wounded, or for some reason temporarily unable to lead. However if the ruler dies, the deputy does not automatically become the next leader, they have to be elected for it. The deputy shares the powers of the leaders apart from appointing brambles to mentors. However the deputy’s first duty, is to continue their role as either a sage, crafter, or thorn.
|| Allseerer ||
The Allseerer is the dragon who records the history of the clan. The Allseerer also protects the soul of the forest, which lies deep underground hidden within the everchanging thorn lined labyrinth. Unlike thorns, crafters, and sages, a dragon cannot choose to be an allseerer, instead a dragon is born an allseerer, and once an allseerer dies, they are reincarnated back into the clan into the very next hatchling born. While the next allseerer doesn’t share the memories of their previous incarnate, they can access the full history of the clan and their previous incarnate’s memories by talking with the soul of the forest. Allseerers are always blind, and have a smattering of eyes that aren’t blind on their wings. Allseerers can be any breed of dragon.
Other Powers Of The Allseerer
-can see through the eyes of their clanmates at will, no matter how far away they are, and even if a clanmate doesn’t want to be seen through
-can get temporarily possessed by the soul of the forest to tell a more direct message. This state also grants the user untold magical power. The allseerer has no control of their body in this state, but they can still see and hear all that’s happening. This happens very rarely.
-experienced allseerers can feel and sense the emotions of their clanmates, and in rare cases talk telepathically with clanmates they are close to.
|| Thorn ||
Thorns are dragons who train to be fighters and guards of the boundaries of the clan. They are proficient in fighting physically and with magic. They upkeep the barriers around the clan, and also supply the clan with game.
|| Crafter ||
Crafters are dragons who work with their hands. They craft the lanterns and structures around the clan, along with necessities like clothes, bowls, arrows, weapons, baskets, furniture, etc. Of course, they also craft “non-necessities” like, carved stones or statues, decorative cloth drapes, novels and novel illustrations, decorative masks, and other forms of art too.
|| Sage ||
Sages are the primary healers of the clan. While most dragons beyond bramble stage know the basics of healing, with or without magic, sages are the masters of healing. Sages also provide the clan with crops and maintain the gardens and other growable produce.
|| Bramble ||
Brambles are juvenile or young adult dragons. Brambles are dragons training under a mentor to become a Thorn, Crafter, or Sage. Traditionally, mentors cannot be closely related to their bramble, and mentors can only train two brambles at a time. All brambles are taught the basics of self defense, healing, and hunting, regardless of whether they choose to be a thorn sage or crafter.
|| Leaf ||
Leaves are hatchlings or younger dragons. Hatchlings are looked after by both parents, who are relieved of most of their duties to the clan until their hatchlings reach bramble stage.
