TOPIC | Journey to the Zephyr Steppes [Nuzlocke]
Nuzlocke Challenge

The premise
All of your dragons die in some disaster. There is only one survivor, and it's up to them to mourn their losses and rebuild the lair back to its former glory.

Rhiangar has set off on his own to see the world, and ultimately, start a clan of his own in the WInd Flight's territory, where his family hails from.

The point
Every dragon is invaluable. Getting a beautiful dragon will be nearly impossible. Just keeping them alive and gradually growing your lair, making your dragons more powerful, is the challenge.

How to start
1. Exalt all but one dragon. The best way to go about it is probably to narrow your lair down to a few favorites, then use a random number generator to pick the sole survivor. If you really want you can stow your favorites in a friend's lair or just keep them and not use them, but if you do YOU'RE WEAK.
2. Get an egg. Hatch it.
3. These are the two sole members of your clan - the lone survivor, and an orphaned hatchling, perhaps found among the rubble of the fatal disaster.

The rules
1. You can't buy dragons. All you can do is buy eggs or hatch your own. Change as of 8/17 - You can buy a dragon from the AH after you've leveled three dragons to level 25. This means that you can still get rare breeds that are impossible to find scrolls for, it's just extremely difficult. (You're encouraged to buy non-gened dragons, since you're able to get both rare breeds and whatever colors you want, to keep it in line with the challenge, but do whatever is the most motivating for you.)
2. You can only buy one egg a month.
3. You can't scatter scroll a dragon until they've reached level 25.
4. You can't give a dragon a primary gene until level 10, can't give them a secondary gene until level 15, and can't give them a tertiary gene until level 20.
5. For every egg you find, whether in the coliseum or by scavenging, you may purchase one breed change for any dragon.
6. You cannot gather food, you must grind for it in the coli.
7. If a dragon faints in the coli, it's dead. Exalt.

Nests
1. For every hatchling, flip a coin.
2. If tails, the hatchling died. Exalt.
3. If heads, you have a survivor.

Personal Rule Additions:
> The Nuzlocke clan will be granted 5 gathering turns a day, to be used for digging or scavenging
> Familiar bonding is allowed - considered as trinkets found by the familiars
> Skins can be used @ lvl25
> Can only use apparel, familiars, or battle stones found while grinding, received from pinkerton, or purchased with nuzlocke clan funds
> Items from Pinkerton belong to the Nuzlocke clan
>> Dragons must be nested according to what territory they are in - nest rentals can be paid for with non-nuzlocke funds

I stumbled upon a trade vessel today, asked them if they knew where Clan Maestar was. They managed to point me in the right direction thankfully, they asked for money (of course), and I had to give them what meager funds I had left. My sister Orisa has offered to let me stay with her while I'm here, it should be nice to spend some time with her. Then first thing tomorrow, I'll find the clan's hatchery and see what they can do about this egg. -- Entry 4. I spoke with a Pearlcatcher named Oliana, she oversees the hatchery here. She says the egg seems to be well into its development, and that it will probably be hatching within the week. Thank the Arcanist I got here when I did! I don't know WHAT I would do if this thing hatched in my satchel midair. I've left the egg with the attendants for now, though I don't know what I'll do once it's hatched. The clan can't support much more than its current population at the moment, but I haven't the slightest clue what to do with a hatchling, especially since I'm on the road and can barely protect myself as it is. My sisters can't take it in either, they're both far too busy with their work at the moment, and no one in the village is looking to adopt a stray hatchling found adrift in the middle of nowhere. "There must be a reason it was abandoned out there", everyone says. They seem to be a very superstitious bunch. --- Entry 5. The egg hatched today! I've been heading over to the hatchery every morning and every evening to check in, and as I arrived this morning the egg had just started to pip. I stayed to make sure everything went well and to see that the hatchling was alright. It's a boy! A guardian, too! He's already half my size, and he's just been hatched - this will certainly be an interesting endeavor. I can only imagine what mother and father will say when I write them... Oh, and I went to the market today! I managed to get 206t for the junk I'd picked up on my way here - though the traders seemed exuberant to have any new materials coming into their stores. They're certainly a clan of scavengers who make use of every single item they find, and they value everything they have. It's nice, though I do feel bad as it seems they're a rather poor clan.

Rhiangar's Journal

Entry 1.
It's been a few days since I left the city and began my journey south to the Windswept Plateau. Everything has gone fairly smoothly so far, except for a few rage puffs. Thank the Arcanist my parents gave me a satchel filled with potions, they certainly knew what I was getting myself into before I did.

Unhatched Water Egg
I'll have to find a settlement or a clan somewhere and try to have someone examine the egg. I think my half-sisters live with a clan around these parts, I'll have to try and track them down first.

Entry 3.
I stumbled upon a trade vessel today, asked them if they knew where Clan Maestar was. They managed to point me in the right direction thankfully, they asked for money (of course), and I had to give them what meager funds I had left. I'll have to see if I can get anything for some of the trinkets I picked up from beasts in the village markets while I'm here. My sister Orisa has offered to let me stay with her while I'm here, it should be nice to spend some time with her. Then first thing tomorrow, I'll find the clan's hatchery and see what they can do about this egg.
