cas, WAKE UP: Week 1 Selection

Personality: Exudes a sort of quiet confidence, though bordering on unapproachability. (She's forcing it.) Very soft-spoken and distant, preferring her peace and quiet when she can help it. Usually found daydreaming on her own or reading (or having her owl, Alhena, read for her.) Rarely speaks about herself and has expressed no emotion more intense than the slightest flicker of disdain for some of the rowdier members of the Collective, and a marked discomfort with being the centre of attention. An expert at sending away uncomfortable questions with a noncommittal shrug of the shoulders. Has a fondness for all kinds of birds of prey, though she has no interest in keeping more of them.

Occupation/Role/Abilities: Member of the Argus Collective mercenary group; works under Juno, the First Knight. Primarily does bodyguard-type stuff. Alongside her normal Arcane magic, she moves much, much faster than a Ridgeback should when unencumbered, and has the power to agitate ambient light into far more deadly forms of radiation with a flick of her tail fast enough to be imperceptible to the naked eye. Her shadow smoulders and her reflections seem to be bubbling, and when particularly perturbed, it becomes difficult to look directly at her for long periods of time.

Backstory: Originally a paladin of the late Order of the Twilit Isles; an order dedicated to preserving the sanctity of the arcane through the elimination of dangerous threats to reality. It was too little and too late on their part, unfortunately, as Reverie herself would be claimed by that one of the anomalies she sought to destroy. Not that she knew, until one day, the stress of a losing battle, one too many friendly casualties, and eldritch torture caught up to her, and the eruption of radiation that ensued brought left her the only one standing. Reverie would much rather this much of her past be left hidden, but she never exactly had the luxury of control, did she? Why do you think she wears that horribly impractical armour?

The jobs she takes now pay enough to feed her and Alhena and supply them both with fresh reading material for a few months of blessed solitude. Bereft of a cause, bereft of the world she knew as a hatchling, daydreaming about the past is the only thing that gives her true happiness anymore.

A handful of other details: - Is partially sightless in one eye and isn't doing too well in the other; Alhena serves as a seeing-eye familiar. Though she can't "see" per se as she did before, she can view things as Alhena does, and Reverie has even trained the owl to understand written language.
- Regularly enjoys horrendously cursed food combos. Stuff that even Alhena can sense the wrongness of, and she can't even eat dragon food. This gold dragon seems to have an iron stomach... and taste buds.
- Her favourite colour is fuchsia; like the banners she used to carry in the Order of the Twilit Isles.
- When she's been in the sun for a bit, her scales seem to glow slightly on their own.
- The collection of lanterns she keeps on her at all times not only help provide a steady source of light for her powers, but she makes a point of maintaining perfect posture (and magical prowess) by walking everywhere with them without allowing them to make a sound despite constant motion.
