The Eleventh of the Eleven Knights of Argus. For your own sanity, I'd recommend trying to avoid getting close enough to his armor to properly realize it's completely organic. And very likely alive. Vell knows why "Dolor" was selected. Struggling against Vivida's whispers, he had long since discovered what he'd become. The title of Eleventh Knight had been, even before Argus was consumed, a double-edged sword for its host. Juno, Frei and Vell still remember the early days before there was an Eleventh Knight. That seat at the table was not the leadership role it was made out to be; it was a way to keep a potentially devastating third party under heavy supervision and control. Whether such a position should have been maintained after she did what she did, however... Vell doesn't answer questions about his decisions anymore. The two remaining Knights from that halcyon era are left to speculate on why he'd placed Dolor in the Argus Collective's panopticon, and how exactly he found such a close lookalike to- |
