An element is many things. The comfort and beauty of its softer edges, the swift death of its harsh realities. A god is an element given a face- and the mind to wish to curate its own image.
The gods cast off those aspects of themselves that conflicted with their images. The terrible, wrathful, fearful aspects of their elements that sustained only themselves.
Newly untethered, those fears would grow, and mutate, and warp, come to prove why no deity could keep them near.
The Plaguebringer believes that only those who survive the pandemonium of her realm deserve passage through it. The Uncanny was born when she declared that there will be no second chances. Skin peeled off and reaffixed, hearts that do not beat- to her, there is no viler thing than a corpse wearing a living dragon’s face.
