Biography
The Thing Beneath the Floes, as described by Its inheritor.
Record made from memory by Jean Earhart, originating from a conversation with the subject.
Record made from memory by Jean Earhart, originating from a conversation with the subject.
I used to be an explorer.
Of course, in theory, that doesn't sound any different than what we do here. We're all about delving into the unknown, finding all the weird things that shouldn't be- well, you are, at any rate. You go places, you're the type that does all the delving. I don't handle the unknown. When I throw myself at something, the only variable I care about is whether or not I might have to replace another hand. There's a reason I mooch around headquarters until there's something the Knights know they need gone.
Yes, my career in exploration is firmly in the past.
I used to go on long hikes up in the Cloudscape Crags. Nobody else did it- said they were cursed. That nobody who went up came back down. I, for one, took that as a challenge.
It took years before I was used to the cold enough to attempt the Watchtower Spire. Y'know, the one super far to the west, curls around back in on itself a bit? Yeah, that one was super cursed. And super cold. I'm no Tundra, after all, and Ice magic will only stretch so far if you don't train it.
But... eventually, I was. And the moment I thought I could, I was right at the base of the Watchtower, trying to figure out the best way up. I stayed with a nice Clan at the foot of that one, they tried their hardest to keep me from going up. If I were smart, I'd have listened.
I know now what I've become. I've turned into It. The foundry of elements.

ABOUT LIEV |
|
One of the senior members of the Argus Collective, an extremely powerful mage whose body has been partially replaced with magical water. She's incredibly laid-back, almost to a fault, and acts very casual and friendly to anyone she comes across. She was a candidate for the role of Eleventh Knight of Argus, but ultimately Dolor was chosen over her. |
