Clan names work like this:

The first name a dragon has is their Lineage Name.

Sires pass down a Lineage-Name to the Sires they produce. Most these names come from the names of plants, and the endings are preferably -ae, -ine, -oe. (e.g. Rubae from Rubus, the taxinomal name for blackberries, raspberries, etc.)

Dams pass down a Lineage-Name to the Dams they produce. The theme of these names is preferably celestial bodies and animals, but varies widely. The endings are preferably -ag, -an, -us, -on or -iel. (e.g. Orion)

All other names are the individual dragon's given names.

Given names are often hyphenated and choose one or two elements from three categories. Preferably the name elements are in the order of fabric-tree-treasure-animal, regardless of how many categories they took from. (e.g. Silk-Hound, Velvet-Iron, Pearl-Stag)
