Welcome to the port of Astreya
this is an exalting lair (he/him, FR+0)
Located in the Churnscar Wharf, Astreya is a large port clan specializing in sea trade. Originally founded by a dragon named Zerios, Astreya started its life in the Abiding Boneyard, but after Zerios' mysterious disappearance, the clan was moved by its new chief, Rex, to his homeland of the Wispwillow Grove. The clan was prosperous, for a while, mostly keeping to itself while slowly growing in number. But due to Astreya's close proximity to the Sunbeam Ruins, some nearby Light dragons took issue to this, particularly one dragon known only as "Solaris", but whether this was his true name or not remains unknown. Solaris was considered to be a fanatical worshiper of the Lightweaver, and most paid no attention to him.. but those that did, joined his cause to rid the world of the "sinful" Shadow clans. Astreya, just so happened to be first on his chopping block. None knew why this was, some believed that perhaps Solaris had tried to join Astreya, but was rejected, others believed he was corrupted by a demon, telling him lies about Astreya and its dragons, and some thought that Solaris was simply crazy, and had no real reason for attacking the clan first. But a small select few, across many different clans throughout Sornieth, believed in Solaris' cause, creating a cult around him and his fanatical belief of the Lightweaver. Calling themselves the Empyrean, they begun to plan an attack on Astreya, and though Rex and the other leaders of Astreya knew of Solaris and his Empyrean followers, they were still unprepared for their attack, now known simply as "The Eclipse" by the survivors. Most of the residents of Astreya perished in the attack, but so too did the Empyrean, including their leaders, Rex and Solaris respectively. Before his passing, Rex entrusted the leadership of Astreya to his trusted advisor and adopted son - Starstalker. Together with his new mate, a former Empyrean named Lumine, they took the survivors and traveled south to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, eventually settling in the Churnscar Wharf, where Astreya remains today. Though it has taken many years, the clan has recovered from the losses the Eclipse brought, in no small part due to a mysterious order of dragons known as The Aspects, who were said to have played a major role in the defeat of the Empyrean, although the Aspects have not been seen since the Eclipse, and many question if they ever existed at all. But although the clan may be safe from threats such as the Empyrean, that doesn't mean there isn't any dangers lurking around the shadows of the ports of Astreya. Demonic activity has always plagued the clan, but has grown in number over recent years. Shadowy figures have been spotted underneath the waves near the clan's deeper, underwater sections. Worshipers of the Shadowbinder grow more and more distrustful of Starstalker's leadership and apparent force of a new religion on the dragons of Astreya, and the remnants of the Empyrean, though small, are still present on the outskirts of the clan.. many hope that with the recent change of leadership, and with increased protection of the clan, such as the crew of the Jormungandr, the Four Winds, and increased activity from the Aspects, Astreya will remain safe. Whether that holds true, remains to be seen.
Hello, I'm bigbeffery but you might also know me as Distraxx. I mostly just write my dumb little lore (so I can improve my writing abilities) and a forum post every once in a while, so I'm not the most active here. Usually I just share my dragons on theme week anyway, so that's probably the place you'll see me most.
As said before, I do exalt dragons, but I usually only exalt and sell my own dragons. If you buy one of my fodder dragons (anything below 6kt) from me, please name them if you're going to exalt them, even if you just name them Exaltee! Thank you byebye
