EnglishRose So I wrote this semi-quickly and went a few words over the minimum (Like 216 over OOPS) But heres a kinda sweetly-sad story for Cory :)
Lazy, cool, early spring days were always Cory’s favorite- They’d wait all year round just to curl up against a river bank, their tail dipping lazily into the water as they’d simply nap away. Passerby dragons might’ve called them a typical lazy Spiral dragon, but Cory would never listen- They usually chose to have selective hearing in those moments.
Warm morning sun would shine through the thick bamboo forests of their home, the grass was softest at the very edge of the water, and the cool, clear liquid kept the warmth of the sun from getting too warm against Cory’s scales. If heaven existed, this was it.
Cory kept their home close-by to the river, a large willow, leaning over the water. Sometimes if it got really hot out, they’d droop over the branches, tail stirring the water of the river under them. Sometimes, fish come by, lingering around in Cory’s little section of the river, and the Spiral could swear they could watch them for hours at a time. They’d swear some of the same fish would come back, time and time again, and hang out around Cory. It was nice.
As springs would pass, other dragons began moving into the forests, settling and taking the quiet, calm, solitary land away from Cory and their fishes. What fish weren’t scared away were bred and hunted for food, leaving Cory alone. At least the sun kept them company.
Peaceful solitude turned into unwanted, bustling community life, and Cory would watch from afar as the dragons that moved into their home pretended like they did nothing wrong, like they hadn’t taken Cory’s wonderful, heavenly life away and become a daily annoyance- No longer could the Spiral dragon enjoy their peaceful spring days, the buzzing summers, the awe-striking autumns, nor even the crystalline winters without having to pretend they liked sharing them with others.
One day, a fish returned. Swimming circles around Cory’s tail, peaceful and curious. Cory swore they wouldn’t let anyone get this fish, this was their only living being allowed to be close and friends with the Spiral. But the dragons of the new village weren’t understanding nor were they kind to the poor hermit of a dragon- One day while they were snoozing in the mid-spring sun, they startled them awake, and they fell into the water.
Being born under the watch of the Lightning Flight, Cory was imbued with the power and energy of electricity, and whenever they were startled or frightened, they immediately let out shocking waves of electricity from their scales. Cory hit the water, startling and then electrocuting their finned friend. While the towns-dragons snickered and took a cruel pity upon the Spiral, they fled from what was their home to the farthest reaches of the Zephyr Steppes, all the way to the sands near the Thousand Currents, where they curled up by the water, staring out over it as thoughts flooded their mind.
It wasn’t as warm, or as quiet, but at least the sand felt as soft as the grass once did- Though it was a little soggy.
