For my entry for the Brightshine raffle: Here's a fun fact about ancient mediterranean architecture!
Ancient Romans didn't have air conditioning. So what did they do to beat the heat? They built their homes in a horseshoe shape around a central courtyard, with the roofs sloping in towards the courtyard. The shape and orientation of the house would encourage wind to flow around and through the house. A pool in the courtyard would collect rainwater. The rainwater pool would act as a heat sink, keeping the whole house cooled as the sun evaporated the water. The pools actually also helped to hold heat during the winter-- creating a mediating effect on the surrounding climate, the same way lakes do for their surrounding regions. Pretty clever!

Hello! Thanks for hosting this giveaway.
Did you know that dogs have extra muscles in their “eyebrows” that allows them to express what we call “puppy eyes”? This was unintentionally bred into dogs during domestication, and wolves do not possess these muscles. The one exception is that huskies lack them too.
Here is my shadow Veilspun who reminds me of a light dragon.

Here is Kayden, he's one of my impulse buys on the auction house. Although he's a lightning dragon, he fits a light rep.

Did you know? Some small dams generate drowning machines, which are vortexes of water (kind of like a washing machine) that are nearly impossible to escape.
