this one is half silly, but I was terrified of mushrooms for a long time. It wasn't until i started cooking with them as an adult that my aversion towards them went away.
I was terrified of the sound of the airplanes in my city as a kid; if the sounds woke me up, I'd go sleep in the hallway.
I was also and still am disproportionately scared of escalators. It's not like I can't get on an escalator, but I get some aversion to getting off the escalator.

I was terrified of flushing the toilet
When I was really little I flushed the toilet one time and it overflowed so it stuck with me I guess lol

i played a lot of sports as a kid, so that usually entailed me being outside for long stretches of time and plopping down against the grass during rest periods. my problem was that i had this irrational fear of floating upwards if i stared into the sky (specifically while i was on my back) so i would always roll onto my side, as if it would save me from gravity suddenly flipping its switch. i don't remember when exactly i got over it, but it made cloudspotting next to impossible for most of my adolescence LOL
also, the witch from disney's snow white. i think it was her eyes that scared me.

such a funny thread, I'm gonna bring it back ;3
this one scene from the movie Hugo, I think the dude was dreaming about becoming a robot, anyways I never saw the movie again (but I can definitely see it now XD)
I had a C-3PO McDonald's toy at the time and I threw it under the couch because I thought it was a toy of that (I was like 4-5 years old)
Also I was scared of the Arby's mascot when that was around, something about that lifeless stare with the large hat intimidated me.

After seeing some random video my family was watching on tv when I was really little, I was scared of monsters coming to grab me if I wasn't under the blanket covers. And I mean entirely. I'd only leave open a tiny hole just so that I'd atleast be able to breathe.
Another one from when I was little, a certain monster from monster legends terrified me. I forgot its name, but I know it had a mouth on its stomach and that really freaked me out. Whenever I was in the shop, I'd try to scroll past it as fast as possible when I figured it'd be coming up. I visited someone's island once and the person had that monster and I immediately left.

The handdryer, for one. I didn’t like how loud it was and the specific handdryers I saw in washrooms where you put your hands into it, I thought it would eat my hands or something. But mostly the noise. I still avoid handdryers because of the noise they make.

The scene in Shrek 3 where Shrek is having a nightmare and at the end of the dream Donkey turns around with Shreks childs face instead of his own and says "DADA"
Genuinely TERRIFIED me as a kid

I was afraid of the back of our (very unfinished) basement at my dads house.
It was because when I was little, I had a reoccuring nightmare that there was a large tunnel that connected it and my grandparent's house. But there was a giant gorilla that guarded it and if I tried to walk it, the gorilla would emerge and chase me down it.

For me the usual shark in the pool thing was true for some time, but instead of a pool I had the atlantic ocean cause I lived up north. I used to be terrified of being scratched by my cat. Also, more recent than the others, I was terrified something was going to like crawl out of the toliet like a snake or something (when I moved down into more southern USA). Though that fear is justified because I had a whole tarantula hawkwasp just crawl out of the sink while I was tryna brush my teeth in peace, and also a scorpion in the bathtub that somehow came back after being sprayed with some strong insect killer thing and flushed down the drain.
