I've had recently gave my Fathom, Yahtzee, a bunch of lore and made a sort of zombie-esque infection based around her, she's basically the host of a giant colony of fungus and lives in a swamp, infecting any dragons that come across her with mycelium that slowly takes them over

I then went and made a few dragons she's infected, one that's in early stages of infection, one in later stages, and one that's an aggressive variant (giving them all fungus-y accents and colony apparel for the modern dragons)

I just wanted to share them, and see if anyone else had similar sort of infection/zombie lore stuff going on! Including if you have Emperor dragons, I saw a forum post the other day highlighting them and I think they're very cool :)
* Edit- First known survivor, she was attacked by the aggressive variant infected but survived and had the fungus removed, now aims to find other survivors and keep them safe / prevent the spread:

And what remains of the town medic, he realized the reality of the situation too late and had not taken the proper precautions to prevent himself from being infected

Ohhh i LOVE this kind of lore and exploration (hiveminds are fascinating to me). I love that you have different variations of infection, makes me wanna expand on my own! Its been a few years after all. I think Virus here is my greatest example.

Oh, that's delightfully creepy! Love how you've used different accents (and in the absolute worst case scenario, plague primal eyes) to create not just The Infection but different stages of it, all with varying stages of recognition of the original dragon. Like, the ratio of clothing to mushroom really establishes a lingering personality or lack thereof. Cordyceps has always been a favorite of mine for how utterly [i]creepy[/i] it is, and how unlike a lot of fanciful infection scenarios, it's not just a product of the human mind... keeping quite far away from Yahtzee but respectfully Looking [emoji=normal eyes size=1][emoji=normal eyes size=1]
(also just. [i]it itches.[/i] and [i]it no longer feels the itching.[/i] frickin' love that)
I don't have anything near as involved as that, but I do have my two G1 zombie twins, and they've got a bit of lore like your infectees!

I only have two zombie dragons of my own :P One was revived via a curse, and the other is a rotting dryad!

@Ichorous Thank you! Virus is so cool, huge fan of the lore, I love infection stuff that's motivated by one base instinctual goal, and also I love It's apparel, that accent is so cool and I love how you layered the grasp apparel to get that dark red color!

I absolutely adore your twins, I love that the older, more ambitious twin with the sharper mind went first, your description of him losing his grip on his mind, and his brother noticing and not knowing what to do and trying to be there for him when he was never the thinker of the two, then falling to the infection as well, just absolutely great. And I love that their bond as brothers remains even now that they're shells of their former selves, so so good
@Lemures These are both so cool, I'm a huge fan of Valefar and the implications of a body still aging despite the host living long past when they should've, and Seire is absolutely gorgeous, I'd never thought about the concept of a rotting Dryad before but it's so cool :0
@CrowG0d Oh heck yea I love a good science experiment angle, your lore is all so well thought out, I love the descriptions of how the body attempts to move and function when the life that was once there is long gone, I love Specimen's whole deal of being a literal living wet specimen and only being able to survive in the jar, super intrigued about Enzo's interest in them! I'm also super curious about Magik and how he came to be an experiment of The Harvester and Dr. Edrick's, about who he used to be and what exactly they did to him, and I love Assiel's whole vibe, that accent is so cool and goes great with the primal plague eyes :0
