GrimoireBlack YEAH ME AND A FRIEND HAD BEEN DISCUSSING THIS LATELY
Society is awful with enforcing its norms and I think that’s why a lot of people are trans as it is, not that it invalidates anyone, but it’s such a strong thought in the back of your mind that things would be so much nicer if everything wasn’t so split between man/woman stereotypes
It makes the people with different physique feel awful In a sense, always seeing theirselves as “out of line” because of what we’ve been fed to THINK is normal and beautiful based on said stereotypes.
I mean some people have dysphoria and aren’t even trans and have no interest in being trans haha

Before saying anything, I’d like to state that while labels may make you feel more comfortable, you are 100% not obligated to stick with one or use one. You are your own person and gender is different for everyone, so the way that you perceive yourself and the level of comfort that you have using certain labels will vary from others in the Gender Void(tm). In that same vein, you do not have to have dysphoria to be trans/nb/genderfluid/etc. if identifying as a different gender(s) makes you happy and comfortable, you are trans, no dysphoria or other prerequisites needed, and if you feel that a better label suits you later, you are not bound to stick with one forever. Try on different labels and see what fits! Heck, try on no labels if you want and just vibe!! Whatever makes you happy. It is late at night for me so I’m not entirely certain if that makes any sense, but hopefully I’m getting to point across lmao.
I currently identify as genderfluid. I came out to a few of my friends and my sibling a few months ago and around that same time realized that most of my “anxiety attacks” were actually dysphoria. The first time that I had considered it was about... I want to say 3 or 4 years ago? But at the time, I was going through a lot of other issues, so I kind of set it aside till recently ffhdjdh. I can relate a lot to your experiences as well; for a long time, I was seen as a tomboy. I later learned that my “hatred of anything feminine” was actually a “hatred and discomfort at being fit into one inflexible label that didn’t always fit me.” While I am now much more comfortable identifying as feminine on occasion, there are times where I am very much masculine or enby, even if I don’t realize it at first. I can start off the day being addressed by a specific set of pronouns only to be addressed by them again later and for it to feel completely off.
I would also like to say that you don’t have to be evenly spread across the gender board to be genderfluid. You can feel one gender most of the time and others only a fraction of the time and still be genderfluid. For example, while I’ve noticed that I identify as male/enby most of the time, I still have very female days, and that does not lessen my identity at all, nor would it invalidate yours if you have similar experiences. Sometimes being genderfluid may mean not knowing that gender you are /at all/ at the time, which is something I wish someone had told me earlier so I’m dropping if here for you as well.
I apologize for the absolutely incomprehensible word vomit up there! As I mentioned before, it’s very late here LMAO but please do feel free to ping me/PM me if you’d like to chat or have any questions for me to answer when I’ve gotten a decent night’s sleep //wheeze// I’m more than happy to talk. Best of luck figuring out the Gender Void, man!! <333 rooting for you

Phases are okay and changing what you identify as is okay! I thought I was gender-fluid for a while ,decided I was non-binary, went back to thinking I was gendefluid, but Have finally realized I am actually NB Trans-masc ! Don't stress yourself out to much over labels and such, just go with the flow!

Monako Thanks for clarifying. I have, unfortunately, encountered far too many women who make out that trans men and AFAB non-binary people are just trying to escape misogyny, so I appreciate that you clarified your point. :)
I can definitely agree that the way women are treated, and the expectations placed on them, can make understanding oneself more difficult. Women themselves definitely contribute to this: prior to transitioning, most of the women in my life acted like a woman's purpose is to be a baby factory, and it was really hard for me to recognise myself as male when for many years, it just seemed like I hated the idea of being a baby factory. Looking back, obviously part of the reason the idea of getting pregnant sickened me was because I'm not female.
It would be substantially easier for everyone to understand their gender identity if we didn't pile so many expectations and stereotypes on
both genders.

Kairo I figured one gender(or not) could be dominant. I feel like a female most of the time but some days I feel like male or an nb etc so I’m glad someone else feels the same T^T
Thankyouuuu if I do I will <3

GHOSTCHOMPS Thank you! It means a whole bunch, I also figured that there would be some people who didn’t have dysphoria. I might have body dysphoria just not gender dysphoria. Since overall I’m comfortable with being female or anything else

baby genderfluid here, this hit surprisingly close to home. I'm pretty out, except to my grandparents, but they live on the other side of the country, but I just prefer that. yes, I prefer looking masculine, but I still feel that if I was a cis boy, something would feel off. But you should also remember that you can change labels. yeah, it does feel like the boy who cried wolf, but I thought i was a bi girl, then a pan girl, then just not female and pan, to whatever this is??? point is, it's just a label, you can peel it off at any time if it doesn't fit! I'm not even completely sure with my genderfluid label, but in a way that's more 'is this actually allowed, can I do this????' than 'it doesn't fit'.
I hope this helps!
