Navani, you look so mystic and wise, what do you do in your clan?
Navani smiles, the corners of his mouth pulled back to expose rows of sharp teeth.
"Thank you for asking, love. I am a sage - we protect the Lightweaver's domain from magical harm. We're her disciples, if you will. It's a very high honor to get the calling to become one."
"We can't see, as we are blinded by the Lightweaver's, well, light. We rely on her for guidance. Some of us also cover our eyes to hide our birth flight, since we are purely Acolytes of the Lightweaver. I'm one of the few who chooses not to."
"Our clothing and names set us apart from the rest - it is the Lightweaver's wish. You may have noticed Atarangi and Vikenti while you were visiting - they are also sages. When we recieve the call, we leave our old names behind and adopt one chosen by the Lightweaver."
"That's about all I do. I was put here by the Lightweaver to protect this clan's land, and luckily for everyone I enjoy it here. Once we get placed in a clan, we're there for life, so if you don't take well to it..."
Navani glances over his shoulder at a similarly dressed wildclaw to make sure she's not listening.
"My partner, Vikenti, she's, hm, how do i say this without sounding mean... she's not adjusted very well. Her devotion to the Lightweaver is insane. She can't stand some of the people around here who are still allegiant to different flights, like that fae who was supposedly born directly under the Plaguebringer. Fyrenze, I think his name was. She might even be a Gilded Glory in disguise for all I know!"
He lets out a soulful laugh that gets the attention of a nearby ridgeback, seemingly also a sage.
"Right? Who knows! Antares has plenty of cults, she might as well join one while she's at it!"
The ridgeback's gritty laugh get's the attention of the aforementioned Vikenti.
"Atarangi, you shut your mouth before I shut it for you!"
Atarangi and Navani keel over with laughter. You decided it was best to maybe leave them alone for now.
