@BeingofNature I would've preferred to tell a story. Barring that, however, I choose C--I'd rather tell them the truth, as maybe I should've done in the first place!

Aquamarine moaned softly. If only she had taken the toy she had found! She could have offered it in trade for the bear. Now, however, she would have to find another way to bring the poor hatchling her toy--
Aqua paused, cocking her head in thought. She studied the wailing Towa, weighing her options. The middle head looked younger than the others, and had said she wanted a friend.... Aqua took a careful breath, backing away slowly out of reach of the grasping claws. Fighting was out of the question, and she would not flee without the bear, so what else was there to do but try a deal?
The pretty Coatl cleared her throat, focusing on Towa, while trying to dodge the beige head's lunge.
"Excuse me?! Miss Towa, is it? Um, I would like to offer a bargain...
"You see, this bear?" She held it up, hurriedly ducking out of reach of a swipe from one of the other heads, "I'm not taking him for me....I was sent to find him by a poor little lonely dragon. This bear is practically the only friend she has, and she lost him in the maze earlier, and well, it just broke her heart. I'm sure an understanding dragon like you can see how she is so desperate to get him back. She just wants a friend, after all....".
Aqua swallowed, inching away form the blue head as she moved in a circle, praying to the Shadowbinder that her meaning was getting through. She wasn't dead yet, so that must mean something, right? "Anyway," she continued, "since she needs her friend back, and you want a story, perhaps we could make a deal? I could tell you a nice, long tale... and then maybe I could leave with the bear? That way you get your story, and that poor forlorn dragon gets her friend back. And you aren't disturbed by anyone else coming in here looking for him--or me. What do you say?"
She held her breath, wondering if she had just made a terrible mistake.....
Option C: Reason with the Emperor
(Poor Aqua isn't really a fighter... and she could never have left the bear behind... so there was nothing left to do except make it up as she went along... and its not like she doesn't have an exciting tale to tell...)

Talamir did not like this at all. There were too many 'monsters' running about in this maze and he had to run into every single one of them. And then when he finally thought that he was free of it, by finding the bear, he was caught by an emperor. He thought that he would reason with the emperor (C) and *offer it the piece of paper he had found earlier. It was all that he had. Talamir wished that he had picked up the toy now though...
(*Unless he does something else of course...)

Lyrlei came to the realisation that this was not the Emperor spoken of in legends, in fear. This was a trio of people, lost by civilisation for what they were. But this bear also belonged to someone else, she couldn't just give it up...
She cleared her throat and raised her voice.
Deities won't guide you
Think you're on your own?
Now I'm here beside you.
You are not alone.
No-one is alone. Truly.
No-one is alone.
I wish...to reason.
Deities aren't here now.
Who cares what they'd say?
Nothing's quite so clear now.
Feel you've lost your way?
You are not alone.
No-one is alone.
People make mistakes
Gods and children
People make mistakes.
And one child lost her bear.
Yes, that bear right there.
Would you yourself become
Such a thief
As you now claim me to be?
Let me take it back to it's true owner.
You can have instead this wood unicorn.
Just remember
Someone is on your side
Someone else is not
While we're seeing our side
Maybe we forgot: they are not alone.
No one is alone.
Someone is on your side
No one is alone.

Wynfor sighs, in all his research he's read much about emperors. With the three mighty imperials that grace his own lair, he has considered the possibility of one forming should a terrible tragedy occur. This one still seems coherent, all its heads able to talk and be reasoned with. With a shaky claw, Wynfor raises the white cloth he picked up earlier.
"Truce, truce!!" he wailed, waving his white flag of surrender. "Please your lordships, I did not come to bring you harm! I was sent into this maze by a young lady, she lost her teddy bear you see when on a picnic. She heard something sneak up behind her and it scared her so much that she dropped her precious bear. I don't have anything to offer you but earlier, where I found this white cloth there was a toy unicorn. I do not have it with me but if it is alright with you I could lead you to the clearing where I left it."
The entire experience had been exhausting, Wynfor had never been one for adventure or conflict and it showed in his ragged voice and tired eyes. All that is left now is to hope that the emperor will believe him and let him flee with his life and bear.

Let me come back growing, let me come back growing-
Commelin actually spent the first several seconds of the encounter praying internally, rather than listening to the Emperor's speech. (To be fair to him, they don't usually do the words thing.)
When all three shouted, he froze, dropping the bear between his forefeet. "Oh my... can we reach a concordance? This bear is much loved by someone outside your maze, someone who asked me to find it. I don't doubt there will be more after me, if I don't come back with it."
Or at all.
"Would you accept a different toy, and a story to help it settle in? I have both."
He removed the battered unicorn from its place under one wing, and balanced it on top of his muzzle.

Selene thought about the toy in her pack... maybe she could C- Reason with the emperor and do a swap? It was worth a try. She was still licking her wounds from the battle with the Wendigo - she had no desire to get into a fight with an Emperor.

Found decides to reason with the creature. “Outside this maze is a young dragon, the original owner of the bear. She’s been crying because she loves that bear and dearly wants it back. I think that, if you let me bring the bear back to her and let me tell her your story, I think she’d be very grateful. I think that, more than bears or stories, what you really want are friends. Everyone outside misunderstands you, but I bet she’d want to come thank you for giving her the bear, and then you have a friend. And then she and I can tell all the hatchlings that they shouldn’t be afraid, that you’re nice and compassionate and that they should come visit you too.”
“Everybody deserves to have friends!” the little dragon nods emphatically. “I can be your friend too. I don’t have anything I can trade for the bear, not unless you want this scrap of cloth but I can’t even read what's on there, but I will most certainly be your friend!”

@BeingOfNature
Being an imperial yourself, you understand how the emperor dragon must feel. There is no way you could fight the creature, but you do not want to disappoint the small dragonet either. You attempt to reason with the emperor and appeal to it from one imperial to another, and offer the linen scrap and anything else you may have in exchange
((distinct feeling that i screwed up and am dead now))
