I have a suspicion that the people calling this breed release ableist or discriminatory for not having freebies would also claim that they want artists to be paid fairly, if asked.

I find it sad and somewhat immature-- because this is not a major studio. This is a free to play indie game with a tiny team of developers who are receptive to player feedback, who employ an incredibly accessible premium currency.
You want FR to keep existing? You want the artists and programmers who make all this stuff to get paid fairly for their time? Then you can wait the couple weeks it takes for prices to cool down-- like they do for every single breed that has been released.

It's one thing to be mildly disappointed that we didn't get breed changes or eggs. Hey, we all like free stuff-- and new players or those on hiatus might have missed the Veilspun precedent or the gem breed info that has been shared on some threads. It's understandable and fine.

But coming from a artist who works 50h a week on games and VFX, a couple of the posts here are gross.

FR is a grindy game, that's not a bad thing. If you're not able to do that, it's just not the game for you.

I think having a mix of gem genes/breeds and otherly acquired genes/breeds is vital for FR being able to exist as it does.

There are several other threads in which people are discussing the new ancients being gem genes, and there is some discourse around not getting a free egg / bcs with the release. As there is a lot of hostility in the other threads, I wanted to create a thread where I could 1) share the reasons WHY these are a gem gene / have no freebie / people are upset, and 2) I could create a space with the INTENTIONS of trying to keep a peaceful debate/discussion. I wanted to see / show both sides without name-calling, haha, and I know many people don't read through all the responses to a thread, hence why I started my own. Hope this helps, haha!
