Basically, Laura has been a popular singer under the name Luna the Nightsinger since she was a child, but she grew more disillusioned with the celebrity life as she grew older. But it was a good job, it gave her family a lot of financial security, and she does genuinely enjoy singing and songwriting. Her life changes when she receives a cryo vision (if you're unfamiliar with genshin, its like a blessing from a deity that gives you control over an element basically) and she decides to take a break from singing and re-embrace herself as Laura, and goes off to adventure in a country where no one knows who The Nightsinger is.
