"I've defended and avenged... fought the incredible and the mighty... and carried the worthy to their great reward." Valkyrie had always wanted to fight for the Lightweaver. She spent her life prior to joining the Hotaru clan on the battlefield where she began to earn a name for herself; Valkyrie. Over time she forgot her original name, referring to herself by the title given to her by her allies and enemies alike. Named after long-forgotten warriors who were said to guide the dead to their rest, Valkyrie earned her name for a reason. Maybe Valkyrie once fought for a cause; if she did, she has long since forgotten it. Now she fights for the highest bidder, regardless of who they are. Her only scruple is that she will not turn against the clan with which she currently resides. While Link has spoken with her about joining the fighters protecting the clan, Valkyrie has refused his offers repeatedly. She prefers to work on her own and do what she wants, when she wants to. Money is important to her, although she spends it almost as fast as she gets it. |

The only dragon in the clan that Valkyrie seems to be on relatively good terms with is Loki, although no one really knows why. They aren't friends but they do speak on more occasions than Valkyrie does with other dragons. While she is not close with any of the other dragons in the clan, Valkyrie has had a succession of girlfriends from other clans, although they all tend to leave as they realize Valkyrie is not going to give up her current lifestyle for them. Despite her general lack of scruples, Valkyrie does honor the dead as they pass. Any who fought valiantly against her she feels is deserving of her respect, although Valkyrie does not suffer cowards and liars. This puts her at odds with Loki as he almost never stops lying. Most dragons don't see how Loki is the closest thing she has to a friend because of this. When a battle is over, Valkyrie will walk the battlefield looking for any who are dying and she will sit with them and offer comfort in their final moments. |
