Biography

The Archangel Arylic

"I want trees instead of gravestones and nothing to confess"- Big Houses, Squalloscope

Arylic is a part of the Archs, a group of lesser deities created by The Lightweaver. Created to deal with the more recent tensions in dragonkind, he is the youngest of the Archs, but he is not the youngest light deity in existence. From creation he was raised to be the perfect servant. Learning how to fight, resolve conflict, and importantly to be loyal to the Lightweaver.
But from the start he had issues with the last part. From a young age he hated how the deity treated imperials and how she thought it was acceptable how his kind and pearlcatchers disregarded them. He begged for her to at least treat the species better or try to fix the flaw with them to which the Lightweaver ignored him.
When he was deemed ready to interact with dragon kind he took the form of an Imperial to the horror of his kind.
Once he left the domain of his kind he honestly didn't want to go back. He mostly stuck to the Light's gate Ruins, a place deemed the middle of the two realms. He would live out of the temple dedicated to him. But he would occasionally go across the Lightweaver's domain helping out smaller clans.
Everything would change when a shop owner he would visit when in Lanternlea port stumbled into his temple, cursed.
If having a shadow aligned dragon as a palidain wasn't enough to cause tension, forming a friendship and eventually a romantic relationship with him cerntanly was

Arylic is a kind yet mysterious being. He is surrounded by an aura that draws others in and makes them feel safe. Ironically around others he takes inspiration from his siblings and wears a mask of coldness and numbness causing many to feel unsettled and confused. Arylic is one of the nicest dragons in exicstance.
He is far more emotional than most of his kind. Often this causes him to second guess everything he feels but as he has interacted with many more 'normals' he begins embracing it.
Despite his kindness if one does something to the ones he cares about he will make them pay an equal price or worse. He cares for Sorneth and the things in it more than something like him should.

Apperance notes/ideas
The second set of wings under his main set bleed through from his true form. The feathers on the side of his face and on his neck are. In his true form they match his wings. His wings are patterned differently than in his dragon form.

-He has the earring Tyler gave him,he wears it constantly.
-His name sounds harsh to modern dragons. It is from a mostly dead language spoken by the Archs and roughly translates to: keeper of the stars.
-Hunts like a bird of prey.

Quote:
Prompt 1: Arylic tried his best to stay in the light but as he was forced to watch so much pain and suffering brought upon the innocent without reason he could not bear it anymore. Who needs a deity to serve for nothing in return? Who needs wings when you are never taught how to fly? Arylic turned away from everything he ever knew. Caring and Protecting, soon, he became a deity himself for those in his care hiding under a mask to someday return to his rightful place but in a better world.
Prompt 2: Arylic would not accept the silence of the very deity he was born to serve, to give his life to. He tried again, and again and word about his questions and alligations began to make rounds under the other servants. He tried to find allies within his rank but they all shied away from the possible, unspoken consequences. In a desperate attempt, knowing it was going to be his last he faced the highest court. Yet again he was met with silence facing a fate bestowed upon him for challenging a deity. A fate that was meant for those with truely ill means, but that did not seem to matter.

Due to Arylic's status as an archangel he omits a passive light, about the same intensity as a dying glowstick. Not noticeable during the day, but very welcome at night. If a dragon were to be lucky (or unlucky) enough to touch Arylic they would feel lightheaded and short of breath. His "bonus" wings can pass through objects if he concentrates. While he tries not to be biased towards any dragon types in particular, he cannot help but favor Imperials and by extent, be wary of Pearlcatchers.
