Basil

Basil was born to stand out. While that statement may seem contradictory due to her color pallet, which allows for easy camouflaged, there is nary a dragon whos dreams and aspirations shine brighter than her own. As a hatchling she was infatuated with Swampy, a scavenger who only returned to the clan from time to time in order to rest and recuperate; with him he bared unique items acquired on his travels. From the moment she was told of him and his wat of living-- freedom, adventure, travel-- she knew that she had found her passion.
She looked up to Swampy and he generously took her under his wing, promising that she could accompany him on his travels when she was old enough. She was sure to hold him to that promise.
During the short periods of time that he stayed with the clan, the two were inseparable. At first it was only because of Basils consist pestering, but as time went on a routine was silently established. Basil was always following him around, bombarding him with questions and demanding to know more, listening to tales of his adventures and in turn telling him every detail of the life she had planned for herself. She wanted to be just like him.
When it came time for him to leave again Basil always lost a little bit of her spark. She longed for the day that he wouldn't have to leave her behind. Her fascination with travel wasn't a common interest amongst many other dragons so she felt like an outcast when she was left alone with them. She retreated to her den where she spent hour after hour studying maps and charts of stars in preparation for the day that she would finally be free. They provided better company than the uninterested.
With age came grace and wisdom. As Basil grew older she became more tame energy-wise but remained just as enthusiastic about her aspirations. The day that her dream would become reality was nearing and she refused to contain her excitement for anyone. Her spark no longer dwindled.
