Obsidia

Obsidia was one of Windguide's favoured children, and truly Obsidia loved her parents. She had no other siblings her age, thus learned to rely on her mother for her social development. If there was ever a problem, she’d run to her parents. Never able to trust her own decisions.

One thing Obsidia had learned on her own however was the shade. And oh how she despised it.

All her siblings were wiped out by the shade, one even failed to hatch at all. She also knew it was why most of her siblings died early. Though she wondered why it only happened to her relatives eggs, everyone else’s never seemed to suffer. This hardened her hatred, as surely the shade was simply targeting her bloodline.

Everything went as normal until one day she witnessed the one she trusted most, Mountainwing, harbour shade from her paws. Obsidia was horrified and immediately began to investigate further, thinking Mountainwing was shade touched..

Oh the horror when Obsidia found out the truth of her family. She had within herself the thing she hated most, and had promised to destroy or die trying.

Obsidia spiralled into depression, depression which the shade used to it's advantage. Telling her that it was actually a tool she could use. That if she let it in, she would have power beyond her wildest dreams.

She soon gave in, thinking she had nothing to loose by trying.

But she did have things yet to loose, and she realised it when she awoke. She felt searing pain, and saw her siblings huddled around someone. As she stood, she locked eyes with her father. Who growled at her.

Too overwhelmed by the situation, Obsidia did what she had always done, run.

She was chased by guards, but ultimately escaped. Terrified as she was suddenly, truly, alone. No mother nor father to run to anymore. No one safe enough to talk to.

For a long while, she remained that way. Having to rebuild her entire self, her world view and her coping mechanisms. Until she finally settled on a purpose.

To eradicate all the shade touched.

She joined with those also seeking to destroy the shade’s influence, hiding her own curse well beneath her scales. Ignoring every plea it made to listen.

For now she lives with the curse, and though she thinks it could not get worse, the shade magic has manifested in her children. Obsidia's future is wrought with very tough choices...
