HISTORY
Born in the MIRRORLIGHT PROMENADE Attended medical school at THE BEHEMOTH Met wife in the TOURMALINE ARCHIVE |
Illisente was born to a Snapper mother and a Pearlcatcher father in a beautiful lair aside the Mirrorlight Promenade. He spent his youth running through the ruins, basking in the ever present sunshine and reading all the faded inscriptions on the broken marble. Always a bright child, he knew since his hatchling days that he wanted to attend college. He envisioned his future in the Beacon of the Radiant Eye, perhaps recording the inscriptions on crumbling tablets, or keeping careful watch over collections of statues. He never envisioned a future outside of the Sunbeam ruins. Attended undergrad at the University of the Mirrorlight Archive, in the Sunbeam Ruins. Attended medical school at Behemoth University's school of Herbalism and Medicine, and then did his residency at the Hospital of the Tourmaline Archive. It was here where he met his wife, Augnentia, who was one of the junior librarians at the time, and often helped him find books describing obscure illnesses or magical afflictions. After a number of years together, the two decided to settle down and make a life together. Augnentia answered an ad put out by Moth, who wanted someone to help organize his scroll collection, but the two recognized the potential in the young clan, and decided to stick around for a bit while raising their first clutch of hatchlings. They haven't gone anywhere since. They've raised tons of hatchlings together in their younger years, but these days have mostly settled down to focus on clan leadership and mentoring. |

PERSONALITY
To most who meet him, Moth doesn't make much of an impression. He's not passive, he's just neutral. Unobtrusive. Average. Well, at least at first. You see, Moth is picky about relationships. He's passionate and highly introverted, so he needs to save his social energy. He doesn't have many friends. But those friends he does have? Well, they're in for a treat. To those he loves, Moth is a beacon of passion and excitement. While he rarely emerges from his room, the library, or the observatory, you'll often hear him twittering about a passion project late into the night, or helping a friend complete an intricate task. Like Adara, he has endless patience. Unlike Adara, he doesn't have the pressure of clan leadership on his shoulders. So, he's free to fold your laundry or hug you while you cry, or send that anxiety-provoking letter. Mostly, though, he's free to read and write stories, which he does with reckless abandon. |
|
Moth doesn't have a specific clan role, per se, but he's present in all facets of clan life. Despite the fact that he rarely leaves the library or the observatory, everyone in the clan knows Moth, and loves to come to him with a difficult essay topic or a fun story. He's made it clear that the door of his study is always open. On any given day, Moth is probably holed up in a comfy blanket nest next to a large window, reading some ancient tome or writing stories. He actually has many volumes of his own self published work in the clan library, and word has it, he even writes some--ahem--adult rated stories, if you know where to look for them. (Adara will neither confirm nor deny this fact). Aside from writing and reading all sorts of lengthy magical sagas, he also keeps track of many clan administrative records, such as student grades and class schedules. While he prefers to lose himself in fiction, scheduling tickles the part of his brain that loves solving puzzles. He's well enough versed in the clan's magically transforming buildings to understand where classes should be held, which is hard in a lair that doesn't obey the laws of spacetime. What do you do with classrooms that only appear on full moons, or move position every other Tuesday? That's where Moth helps out; with his intimate knowledge of the lair and clan he has nurtured from the very start. |
