- An arcane scholar who went perhaps a bit too far with self-experimentation... and experimenting on others. Has grafted a bioluminescent lure to her head so that she always has a light source.
- Has... little... understanding of scientific ethics. Knowledge is the end-all be-all to her, and she pursues it relentlessly.
- This relentless pursuit left her on the wrong side of several clans, and finally she was imprisoned in one of the many, many prisons of the Southern Icefields. Over several decades of imprisonment, she hatched and executed a plan to escape, breaking out several other prisoners on the way.
- She broke off from the group and is now hiding out in Clan Starscythe, lying low. Gaena is limiting herself to tests on animals. She'll do almost anything for knowledge, but she will do anything at all to keep from being held in a cell again.
- Easily-bored
- Has a habit of talking to herself
- Often shoots calculating looks at the other dragons of the clan. Calculating whether or not they'd notice a hatchling going missing. (Wishful thinking - she knows Sudi would end her life if she ever tried.)
- Brilliant, but has little to no morals to regulate that brilliance
- Loathes being too cold, but due to the shackles of the Icewarden, always feels at least slightly cold at the extremities. (Uses a complex enchantment to conceal these.)
- Claustrophobic
- With her short wingspan, the weight of her restraints, and the fact that her wings have been installed with a flight-slowing pair of chains... she can't really fly. Short bits of gliding can happen, but even that much is difficult.
