Murder

Killing keeps a doll in her likeness with her at all times now since the Gaze left. You wouldn’t know it is her likeness for it is is a pale and horrid thing. After the Gaze tore away the darkness within her it did not dissipate as it was still a part of her soul in some way. It lingered in nightmares and caused the Prince to cry and scream even more than it already did. It would even disturb the Wraith from its perch and force it to seek a new place to roost.

At least until Killing decided she’d had enough darkness in her life. So she gathered the darkness of her soul that would not depart and bound it into a doll of her own likeness. The doll became so corrupted by the darkness that it became bleached of nearly all color. Killing looked upon the doll and saw herself and everything she had allowed herself to become and everything that had ever been done to her and wept at the state she become.

Killing named the doll Murder, after what her uncle had done to her young and innocent self to make her into what she was today, and after what she had become. Her name was no longer a name, it was synonymous to the action. And so Murder became her reminder that she was not killing, but murder and perhaps even an embodiment of death itself that no manner of cleansing could ever wipe away.
